Touch screen functionality for Roll20

I treated myself to a 43" 20-point touch screen overlay for Black Friday, and want to use it for my virtual in-person/virtual gaming sessions. I have a couple of players who play over the internet across the pond, and 4 more in person. I got most of them set up with Roll20 so they have tokens and macros, and I have a nice 43" TV I'm using in person as a VTT, but I find now everyone is staring at their laptops instead of the decades of miniatures I have collected on the TV.  I've dug around and read about "Touch20," but it seems to have been discontinued, so I'm reaching out to the gurus to see how I can set up my VTT with the touch-screen. Ideally, I'd like to have the in-person players be able to move their miniatures, and have their Roll20 tokens follow them to update dynamic lighting in the game, etc... I understand a lot of the Roll20 functions will still need to be done on their laptops, but I feel like what's the point of being in person if we're all staring at laptops? If anyone can point me to a detailed video or other way to set up Roll20 with touch screen functionality (if it's indeed possible), I'd really appreciate it. Thank you kindly.

I have used my phone a few times when I'm playing around with things and I find the general touch works fine. I'm able to select tokens, drag and drop them with no issues. So I'm not sure that something like Touch20 is even needed anymore... maybe it was something that was more important for Legacy games, but they've updated to better handle in Jumpgate games? What type of touch screen is it? If it's an IR screen I could see some potential issues with multiple minis on the board at once. If it's capacitive that wouldn't really be an issue. 20 points makes me think it's an IR screen, so there might be issues where Roll20 is effectively detecting every mini as "touching" the screen at the same time. This is just an assumption from me though, maybe the touch overlay will interpret the moving point as the only input. Have you given it a try at all yet? I'd be curious what results you get just setting up the overlay and attempting to place and move different tokens. One thing I have seen mentioned in the past is using square super clear acrylic as stands for the minis, which allows the IR lasers to pass through as if there's nothing there. Then when you want to move the mini you just pick it up, then use your finger to press and drag the token to where you want it and put the mini back in place. This helps avoid the issue of all minis triggering a "touch" at the same time. But you'd have to use square acrylic and have it sit "square' to the TV. Ken: Yes, I already use Roll20 in the respect of that article, where I have a 43" TV on the tabletop as my VTT hooked to my laptop, and I upload maps to it and then change the map as the players move. I've done some research, and the technology has come a long way in a few years. In the past, you had to buy special bases for the minis and could only have a few on the screen at a time. Now it seems you can just use the mini to move the Roll20 token. I haven't tested it yet, as it hasn't arrived. I was just trying to get ahead of the game by asking here if anyone has the kind of setup in the video. Nice, Land of Prova has another video that is where I got the acrylic bases thing from.&nbsp; <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giSmKBbAd_E" rel="nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giSmKBbAd_E</a> The video is for a different VTT, but using acrylic bases would effectively work the same way for Roll20... basically you would pick up the mini, use your finger to press on the screen to drag your token and then put the mini back on top.

Here is a nice user setup using a capacitive touchscreen, and miniatures with copper foil on bases. You might be able to contact the user for details or tips. Video Thread
