Player Info — Shadeakira (he/him) • Experience: Several years of D&D 5e (roleplay-heavy games preferred) • Playstyle: Collaborative, story-first, enjoys party synergy and emotional arcs • Availability: EST time zone, mainly Monday and Tuesday. • What I’m Looking For: A consistent campaign with room for character development, party bonding, and meaningful stakes. I love being part of the party’s moral core or emotional ballast, and I get along well with both veteran and newer players. --- Character Pitch — Jebediah Zulrich von Wilhelm III Race: Tiefling Class: Paladin (Oath of the New Dawn — homebrew support/tank subclass) Tone: Earnest, soft-spoken, trauma-tempered, determined to lift others before himself. Role in Party: Frontline defender, morale booster, ally-buffing paladin who redirects damage, empowers allies’ attacks, and stands between the world and its darkness. --- Backstory Summary (Short Version) Stolen at birth by a radical extremist sect, Jebediah spent his childhood confined in a stone cell. The order believed tiefling children were “innocent enough to be saved,” so they kept him alive—isolated, indoctrinated, and preparing to die in a ritual sacrifice once he came of age. His only window to the world overlooked their training yard, where paladins practiced swordwork and prayer. He absorbed every lesson through iron bars. Before his execution could occur, the sect was dismantled by the main Church, and Jebediah walked free for the first time. Returning home, he found his noble family disgraced by the scandal of his abduction; his mother no longer recognized him, and begged him not to bring more danger to their door. Kneeling on the threshold, he swore a new oath — not the zealotry he’d been taught, but a promise born from pain: to be a light for others, even if he believed his own soul was beyond saving. He now walks the world trying to lift others higher than he can climb himself, hoping one day to redeem the Wilhelm name enough to be welcomed home. --- Why This Character Works Well in a Party • Supports allies with buffs, protection, healing, and shared damage • Plays well with any alignment except outright evil • Built to enhance others’ big moments • Excellent at roleplay, redemption arcs, found-family themes • Not a spotlight hog — shines by making others shine --- What I’d Love From a Campaign • A world where faith, hope, or redemption matter • Opportunities for character-driven scenes • A party that likes working together, not against each other • A DM open to the Oath of the New Dawn homebrew (balanced, supportive, not power-creepy) • A mix of combat and RP, ideally 50/50 or 60
