[LFP][Fabula Ultima][21+] Players Wanted for Existing Group

Hi! I'm the GM for a group of players that just got done with a 5e Eberron game. We've had a couple of players leave due to real life complications, so we're looking for a couple of new players to replace them. We play on Tuesdays at 5pm PST over Discord. 21+, not due to adult content and themes in the game, but more that we're all 21+ ourselves. About the Game We've been playing 5e for a little over 5 years, and with our most recent campaign ending, we've decided to branch out and try something different. The game we decided on is Fabula Ultima, a TTRPG that takes inspiration from JRPGs like Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, etc. The system uses target numbers for success/failure, with the roll being a combination of two relevant stats (or the same stat twice). Each stat has a certain size of die associated with it. Characters are required to have levels in multiple classes, and have bonds with others that they can invoke by spending a resource called Fabula points to get a bonus to a roll, or reroll entirely. None of us have played it before and I've never run it, but I'm excited by what I've read about the system and am eager to give it a try. It's a game that emphasizes collaborative roleplaying and a hero-centric story. About Me I've been playing TTRPGs for many, many years. I started out playing D&D 3.5 and 4e. I joined my first Roll20 group over a decade ago as a player in a Rise of the Runelords Pathfinder game, and have been playing RPGs ever since. I've played Pathfinder, D&D 5e, Starfinder, Fantasy Flight Star Wars, and others. As a GM, I've run games ranging from one-shots to long campaigns in Pathfinder, 5e, Everyone is John, Lancer RPG, Paranoia, and Call of Cthulhu. I like working with my players to bring their characters to life, as well as working out various ideas and concepts for the game. If you're interested, reply to this topic with your answers to the following questions: How would you describe your playstyle? What kind of GM style do you prefer? What's something you could not live without in an RPG? Give me a two-sentence summary of a character you would want to play in this game (doesn't have to be what you actually play- I just want to get a feel for what you're thinking) If I think you'd be a good fit, I'll private message you to set up at time to talk over Discord and we'll go from there. Thanks for reading! Looking forward to hearing from you! ~ Cam

Oh man, I've been looking for an FU game for a couple months now. :D  It starts right as I finish work, but I'm remote so I should be able to make it, albeit maybe a couple minutes late sometimes.  I'm familiar enough with the rules but haven't had a proper game yet so I still consider myself a novice to the game. How would you describe your playstyle?   I've played Pathfinder 1e for a decade now so I have experience in both voice and text RP.  I try to include RP in my playstyle but mix it with mechanics.  For example, when coming up with a new character I have a build concept I want to try out, finish building said character, then flesh them out based on my choices made (such as having a magic weapon being from their combat experience at a magic academy, or their knowledge of culinary arts being from a family of bakers) What kind of GM style do you prefer? I don't know if there's a specific style I prefer, but I do know I don't like GMs who think they're fighting against the players.  I've had too many GM vs. players scenario that ended up having the game killed because everyone was too busy arguing with one another or players being prevented from doing anything the GM didn't consider. What's something you could not live without in an RPG?  Character customizations.  I find myself building new characters often because I like seeing how they play out in practice.  It's one of the reasons I can't get into D&D 5e or Pathfinder 2e- it feels too restrictive. Give me a two-sentence summary of a character you would want to play in this game (doesn't have to be what you actually play- I just want to get a feel for what you're thinking)  Halfling engineer who uses an iPad (a tablet) they invented in order to cast magic by utilizing a program they coded to emulate somatic and verbal components for spells.  She executes the spell from a power glove attached wirelessly to the tablet and is required to program new spells into it by studying the spell normally and translating it into code.
How would you describe your playstyle? I try to approach everything how my character would rather trying to game things. Even if it blows up in my face. I like a mix of roleplay, puzzles, and combat.  What kind of GM style do you prefer? Depends on the game. For longer games I prefer a more collaborative/reactive GM over one that does a lot of planning. I think of the game as a back and forth between the players and the GM. We're building something together.  What's something you could not live without in an RPG? Character options. I'm an absolute sucker for a game with good character creation. I'll lose days just making a bunch of characters. Give me a two-sentence summary of a character you would want to play in this game. An itinerant ex-tavern worker out to show adventurers that they're a bunch of babies. She can turn on the retail persona when she needs to, but she's much more likely to give someone a good tongue lashing.
I'm interested in Fabula Ultima.  I'll post the answers to those questions in just a bit as soon as I have time to reply.
