BY ORDER OF HIS MOST HOLY MAJESTY THE GOD‐EMPEROR OF TERRA SEQUESTERED INQUISITORIAL DOSSIERS AUTHORIZED PERSONS ONLY Please enter your authority code •••••• Validating... Thank you, Acolyte. You may proceed. The
40th bearer of the Tül Warrant of Trade, Eckhart Tül is an older man
apparently in his early sixties despite several juvenat treatments. He
is particularly notable in that he recently replaced all his bionic
limbs and other obvious implants with vat grown substitutes as he has
recently began to transport colonists and Pure Formist missionaries.
Eckhart, the lord Tül, started his career some 100 years ago, as many of
the Tül dynasty have during the past two thousand years that they have
held their Warrant of Trade, engaged in transporting Inquisitors and
their warbands into hell forgotten places in the deep void between the
stars. Eckhart served the Radical Inquisitor Arcturos, of the
Ordos Xenos for nearly thirty years. Eventually ferrying Arcturos and
his entourage of Xeno archaeologists and scholars across the Halo Stars
on one errand after another, took a toll on the young lord and after one
trip to the Witchcursed World in the Koronus Expanse, he returned a
changed man. When Arcturos began to sanction Xenos and employ them as
Acolytes, Eckhart reportedly had had enough, and took steps to break his
charter with the Inquisitor, whom rumor tells was beginning to look
like a Renegade. There are those that say Eckhart and his former master
parted ways amicably as part of some larger plot. More savvy in
all aspects of his life, after his experience with Inquisitor Arcturos,
Tül took a more active role in the management of the Tül dynasty, and
his family enjoyed a resurgence of favor and wealth as a result, no
doubt because of the prestige that their known connections to the
Inquisition brought. However Eckhart soon began to take more frequent
trips to the Halo Stars, spending less and less time managing his
families affairs and more time exploring the Expanse, as if looking for
something. Rumor has it that his body is immune to juvenat
treatments, and that he's been searching the fringes of Imperial space
for some other way to extend his life span. When the Jericho
Reach-Warp Gate was discovered, Lord Captain Tül was quick to pledge the
services of his dynasty to the fledgling Crusade, eager to open up new
trade routes into the newly rediscovered Jericho sector, forcing several
members of his family into positions of command within the dynastic
fleet. Ostensibly he reassigned three Claymore-class corvettes from
escort duties for use as pocket warships by the Crusade, and immediately
sent four more heavily armed voidships to open trade routes into the
Jericho Reach. He also hired out a regiment sized contingent of
Militants as mercenaries to the Departmento Munitorum to bolster the
Imperial Guard. Eckhart himself hasn't been back to the Calixis
sector in nearly nine years, his longest absence ever. He has
established two colonies in the Reach, a mining colony on Rymer and
another on Jove's Descent. Lord Tül's propensity to exploit his trading
partners has fostered a bad reputation with elements of the Departmento
Munitorum, and the Imperial Navy who he provides a steady supply of war
material to while lining his impressively deep pockets in the process.
He normally enjoys a good working relationship with the Adeptus
Mechanicus Explorator Fleets in the Jericho Reach, and his flag ship the
Super Massive Tül is a familiar and welcome sight whenever the
Explorators run into trouble in the Outer Reach as it is both well
armed, and capable of functioning as a mobile stardock.
