So, as a long time gamer and a huge fan of comic books like Darkhawk, Swamp Thing, Batman, the Green Lantern Corp, Invincible and a lot more. A few years ago, I wrote an independent TTRPG to facilitate the sorts of stories that I wanted to see. It went on to be a Silver Bestseller on DTRPG. Now, it is back... The Aethyrblood Chronicles 2nd Edition will be told in three distinct arcs, but at its core it can be used as a generic supers system that can do all the things that some games leave out. With actual Patrol Mechanics, players can find clues for various plotlines and follow them as they see fit. Recruit sidekicks or form super teams, create super vehicles and headquarters, spend your Downtime to maintain all your relationships with friends, family, work and anything else your character interacts with. All with the same rules systems... not a bunch of unattached subsystems that make learning the game more frenetic. Aethyrblood uses the DPS System, a Dice Pool Scaled system that allows for three tiers of play: human, supernatural, and god-like. You can have a group with Batman and Superman where one does not outshine the other. Designed your own Power Armour like Tony Stark or gain a symbiotic alien suit like X O Manowar. Create Spider-Man, or even Venom and other symbiote characters easily. Play a master of magic like Stephen Strange or Zatara, or someone bestowed magical gear like Dr. Fate. Create the likes of Omni-Man or Supreme and take on cosmic threats. The list goes on - anything is possible! I am looking for a few different VTT tables to playtest the game and see if this new presentation is worth pursuing. The DPS System allows one roll of a Dice Pool to determine absolute success v. failure, degrees of success v. failure and how much narrative control the players have over the results of their rolls. Fail spectacularly? The GM can then take narrative control of the results. Don't like narrative gaming? Disregard it then! But the game also features The Geste Engine, which can be used to procedurally create game content for a four hour session with just rolling three dice no more than three times. This is a very ambitious TTRPG, and I need you help to kick the virtual tires. I already have one player, possibly two. We will work out schedules per player; as I said I want to have a few tables for the game's testing. Any interest? Feel free to ask questions before committing your time and energy. I look forward to hearing from you!
