Jumpgate, TokenMod, Bump and token auras

I recently converted my campaign to Jumpgate.  While looking things over, I noticed that tokens on which I had used the Bump script had circular auras, not square. When I looked in the slave token’s settings, I saw that the aura was set to Square in the dropdown, but the aura on the map was a circle.  If I clicked the Save Settings button (even though I did not change any settings), the aura on the map changed to a square. So I decided to use token-mod to test things out.  First I set the aura radius using “ !token-mod --set aura1_radius|2 ”; this applied a circular aura as expected.  Then I tried changing the aura shape using “ !token-mod --set aura1_square|on ”; this did not change the shape on the map to a square as expected.  Again, if I opened the token settings I could see the shape in the dropdown was set to Square, and if I did nothing but click Save Settings, the aura on the map changed to a square.  FYI, I also tried “true” instead of “on” and got the same results. I tried this in 3 different Jumpgate games and got the same results in all of them.  I also tried it in 3 different legacy games and got the expected results of a square aura from both Bump and TokenMod. This works both ways, in that if the aura is a square and I use TokenMod to change it to a circle, it does not take effect until I click Save Settings (in my Jumpgate games). Any ideas?

Hi John, I would urge you to fill out a  Help Center Request . I would not expect quick action, because this sort of thing has been reported before, but more data points help, and more reports increase pressure. There have been a number of reports of display things set by the API not becoming visible until the settings are manually opened and closed. In any case, I'll make a report of my own.
Thanks, Keith. I suspected it didn’t have anything to do with the scripts. I had a faint hope that you, The Aaron or one of the other heavy hitters would swoop in with some fix or tell me what I was doing wrong.  Hope springs eternal.  You guys often perform miracles. I’ll fill out a Help Center Request. Thanks again. -- John
John, did you get a reply back?

From what I have seen in the past few months, there is a tendency for things set by API not to redraw to the screen until the GUI is activated (like opening and closing settings). Very annoying, and it has been reported.
I got an email indicating they were having trouble reproducing the issue.  I was on vacation and couldn't respond immediately. When I got bac, my screen recording was flaky, so I sent step-by-step screenshots of the problem. That was about a week ago.  I haven't heard back again as of yet.

Hi John, sorry I'm just seeing this.  I've tracked down the issue to a change in the way aura shapes are annotated in Jumpgate.  I'm looking into how to solve that best for the API.
Looks like I was right to believe in miracles after all! Thanks, The Aaron.

I have the initial fix in testing now, just have to write some more test scripts and fix some edge cases.
