Alien Starter Set - Where are the Alien NPCs?

Hi! I have been trying to set up the Alien Starter set module for a game with some friends. I can't find the Alien NPCs in the module anywhere. As per the screenshot below, I can drag the Player characters onto a map no problem, but where are the Alien NPCs for me to place on a map? I think that I must be missing something and that I am looking at this incorrectly, but without Alien NPCs, how would combat work? I would expect them to be found here, but they are just handouts: I know that the contents of a module are the responsibility of the game publisher, andI have contacted Free League about this, but tbh they haven't been any help. Am I looking at this in the wrong way? Cheers, Spry

It is supposed to contain the NPC's, the marketing text says 5 ready-to-play crew members 10 NPCs with unique character art I think there may be some problem with this Marketplace product: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/gameaddon/16825/alien-rpg-starter-set When I try to Create a New Game with it, it says "Depricated" in the title. Going directly from the Roll20 Marketplace of Alien Starter Set, clicking the purple "Play" button (used to be labeled Create New Game), it goes to the game creation page but here it says [Depreciated] Alien RPG Starter Set for the title. My hunch is we need the Updated Roll20 Marketplace product link to properly install it. The best way to ask for this to be fixed is probably Send a Request to Roll20 Help Center and use Official & Licensed Content in the drop-down, https://help.roll20.net/hc/en-us/requests/new Or, like you said, contact the Publisher: Free League, if possible. Maybe they have been busy for the holidays but will be more responsive now? You could try telling them that the product is showing up as "Depricated" and not just missing NPC, see if that gets FL's attention onto it?
Hi! I was referring to the module for the latest version, the Evolved Edition, here - https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/bundle/40253/alien-evolved-starter-set I notice that It mentions in the blurb that there are only 5 NPCs - " Five pre-generated characters to choose from, built into the Alien Evolved character sheet and ready to play." This must be an oversight since there are indeed only 5 NPCs in this starter pack, and no Alien ones, which is odd given what the game is about. I'll open a ticket, Cheers

Ah, that is helpful to have the actual Marketplace product link. Taking a look. Ok after some hunting I think I found them! Good news, It kinda does more than what the Marketing description says, rather than less. Get the creatures (= monsters = aliens = xenomorphs = NPC's) from the Alien Compendium. Use the Compendium tab in your game. Assuming you bought the Bundle and own the Alien Starter Set Compendium -- by the way there are a few other Alien products from Roll20 Marketplace beyond Starter Set, that add additional Alien Compendium options (e.g. more creatures/aliens). From Compendium tab open "Hostiles" or "NPC" and from there you can drag-and-drop Starter-Set creatures and they will appear on your tabletop as a Token with art AND creates a Character Sheet for it and only THEN the character will appear under the Journal tab. That's why the Character Sheets are not initially showing in your journal, because they become created later when you drag-drop them from the Compendium.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate your response. It works a treat, and now I'll be able to use Roll20 to run Hope's Last Day tomorrow. Thanks again! Spry

Great! Happy gaming. Glad we found the creatures. Wouldn't want them sneaking up on us. I think the Roll20 Marketplace text could be made more clear about what you get & how to get it into your game. Users may be overlooking this capability.
