D&d 2024: Blank Token with Drag and Drop

Some Monsters when I try to drag and drop are just a blank token, it has the bios information but there is no character sheet associated to it, when you go to that tab it asks what you want to create. How to solve it? It's even worse due the fact that this module in question, Vecna:  Eve of Ruin, states it's 2024 ready but it actually use monster stats from 2014 so you have to manually adjust all the monsters (that are not unique) in the module manually.

Depending on when the module was created, it may actually be a hybrid game, requiring both sheets to be active. You can still use the 2024 sheet for PCs, and for any monsters you add subsequently, but I think Vecna: Eve of Ruin likely predates the shift over. If that doesn't help, let me know and I can investigate more deeply.

Hi Keith, it's running as a hybrid game and each time I drop an NPC it asks if it should open in the 2024 sheet or 2014, I've always chosen 2024 since the Monsters I am dragging and dropping are from the Monsters book from 2024, during my searches it seems this is not the first time something like this happened, there are some posts dating 5 years back that people were also facing issues when they've drag and drop the monster and it came blank. Also I noticed this may be related to the "loading" or "preparing your sheet" that happens when you drag for the first time, I think I may have closed the popup too fast and for some reason it didn't continue to load on the background and it glitches.

It's possible. I have seen reports of that sort of activity but I can't recall ever being able to reproduce it. OK, I know the module. If you want to give me steps, I'll try to reproduce it: What sheet did you choose as the base? Give me specific actions that consistently lead to a blank sheet (what creature you dragged from where?)

I was just able to replicate in a brand new game, seems the module doesn't matter as in this one I was running Phandelver and Bellow. Both games are using the "hybrid" system where a popup appears asking if you want to use 2024 or 2014 sheets, then I choose 2024 and the typical 2024 window appears it, if you close while is in this state: Then it glitches and it's just a blank token with the correct bios but no character sheet to it, and I don't know if it's possible to "reset" somehow without creating a new game, because every time you try to drag and drop the same token it will just be a blank one.  The screen itself states you should leave it open, what has happened a few times thou is that when I click somewhere else in the page the window closes by itself.

Thanks for the details! This should be an easy fix. Whenever you have a half-finished compendium drag, just make sure the window is open, and drag the monster from the Compendium again, but drop it over the open window, just like you were dropping a piece of equipment onto a PC. This should force an overwrite of the character. It's a good idea to check that you don't have any overlapping windows, as you could accidentally overwrite an unintended sheet.
So I've tried to do as you said but it doesn't work. I've opened the Character Sheet window for the Balgura and then tried to drag and drop from compendium directly to the window, nothing happens, tried to drag and drop anywhere else and it's just the same blank token.

Ah, yes. On that screen it's still in pre-anything mode. Go ahead and press Build a New NPC to get it into character display mode. You may see the entire NPC sheet, or you may see something half formed. If it does not look complete, do the drag and drop procedure.
