The Stilt Town Base

So, many of the players are interested in buying one or more of the warehouses in town and converting it for use as a headquarters and shared living space. There are three buildings in town the owners would be willing to sell. Below is a map with each one circled. The group can purchase as many buildings as they want, and or act individually if desired. You should reach a consensus by Friday 10/16/2014 and decide who is paying what amount. After it is purchased, you may designate common areas and personal zones as you see fit (so people can buy and place furniture/belongings). Wooden walls may also be built to create rooms, the price of which will be discussed after players have laid down the plans in a diagram. Buildings 30 and 31 are the exact same size and layout, and are considered a "SMALL WAREHOUSE" for the purposes of this post, and Building 19 is much larger and considered a "LARGE WAREHOUSE" for the purposes of this post. Below are the related costs for purchasing/furnishing the property, maintaining the property, and what it costs a player character to move in. Purchasing/furnishing, and maintaining the property are all shared costs that are paid by who ever is playing from week to week. You guys want me to start working on the room layout of the large warehouse? I will get right on it with that blueprint thing that Steve sent us. If that is the one we are buying anyway.
I already have the layouts and descriptions of each building. I'll share with you when you decide which one to buy. Building walls is an after-purchase renovation project.
how much would a small wharehouse be inividually?
or split between two ppl?
Small warehouse is 2,934.9 gold pieces to purchase, and would cost 103.8 gold pieces per week in upkeep. You can split the costs between however many people you want.

My own opinion is that we go for the large one and make sure everyone has an equal amount of room, as long as they paid the initial purchase price split and their move-in cost. Owning individually is fine and all but you will incur a higher maintenance cost. Do what you want, though! We could always just stick to the inns too...

Also, Steven - Gorg bought a chest and 1k gp lock last night. I'm assuming that would negate that part of the move-in cost, right?
steven, im gunna go ahead and buy 31 please
If you have the necessary items for the move already, don't pay double; just negate that cost. Donny: I'll scan in the map of the location tomorrow and put it up here. You may also want to save your money for the 2nd level spells book (4000gp) which you can start using at level 3, and the 3rd level spells book (8000gp) which you can start using at level 5. On the other hand you may get lucky enough to find them in a dungeon, so its up to you. If you pay for the full cost yourself, this becomes your sole property and you get to make all the decisions for it. Also, once you guys become land holders (whenever that might be), you can work at attracting specialist retainers, raise armies, etc.
I will test my luck with the spell books :), ill go ahead and buy it. One more question, since im level two, If i can find and buy a level 1 spell book can i carry two spells in my mind?
You start the game with a 1st level spell book. You can memorize as many spells as the chart says, which I think is two 1st level spells.

Gorg is only interested in going in on property with others and doesn't want to take on such a long term cost alone. If no one else is interested, he continues living out of his chest in inns.
gorg if you want you can shack up with me :D just help me pay weekly costs and you can be my roommate, also not as crowded
I am down for going in on the large warehouse with at least 6+ other people to help negate costs and manage the occasional weekend that I wont be able to quest to replenish my gold stock. I also like the idea of being able to buy and house a boat!
I'm down for the large warehouse
Bunking with donmeister
And I'm thinking about rolling up a caster

Gorg sees safety in numbers, thanks though. He'll split costs with the dwarf and the others in the large warehouse. Are you blueprinting that up, Jesse?
I need Steve to send me the layout, but I could do it off of his description
Jesse- Do we know the total per player cost for 1) Buy In and 2) Weekly Maintenance for the Warehouse? I want to join if its feasible.
Also does that mean we don't have to pay 13gp weekly maintenance since our warehouse expenses will provide for us? Except hookers. They were not included in the standard warehouse staff, right?

I believe Amanda said she'll pitch in for the large warehouse also.
The Large Warehouse looks like this. I will recreate a floorplan on the Stilt Town screen and create a bunch of furniture for you guys to drag and drop in place. You are free to determine where all furniture items are, and there are no windows that open anywhere on the property. Additionally the entire building, floor, ceiling, etc. is made of wood planks in case I haven't made that clear.
The Small Warehouse looks like this. I will also recreate this floorplan on the Stilt Town screen and create furniture for you to drag and drop into place. The table, benches, and Cook Pot are where they need to be in order to operate as a functional eating space due to the limitations of the floorplan. No windows are present on the structure, and it is made entirely of wood planks.

They were not included in the standard warehouse staff, right? If you are living in one of these warehouses you will ignore the Room and Board expenses. That leaves a minimum of 1gp and 5sp that needs to be paid from week to week for companionship and maintenance.
I will also invest in the larger building. But I also bought a chest (will buy a lock) and a poison potion. I'd like to employ Thea to setup a trap and teach me to not set it off when I access the chest.
I will invest in the large building as well. I had also already bought a chest and lock. I will also help Freddy with his trapped chest. Aslaard Goblinslayer, my companion, will also move in.
