Raven's Bluff - Pathfinder - Level 1 - Forgotten Realms

In many folktales of Faerûn there is mention of a City of Adventurers, where every citizen is a mighty and famous delver, monster-slayer, explorer, or smiter of foes, from the bread bakers to the roofers, the dung-sweepers to the high judges. The very cobbles of the streets are gold, they say; handfuls of gems serve as small change, and the humblest houses crammed with valuables of gleaming beauty and glowing enchantment. Folktales are like that. Most cities are grubby, crowded, dangerous places, where coins are hard won and easily lost, and few folk are mighty or famous. Reality is like that. Reality in Faerûn, however, does hold a City of Adventurers. A young and vigorous city, where magic does dazzle and wealth is heaped in plenty for some. Danger lurks there, too, never far from the elbow of the visitor. A stranger here will share crowded streets with more than the usual share of adventurers, eyes sharp and alert, swords swinging ready, and deadly spells just a mutter and gesture away. It's a city of watchful black ravens; a port often raided of old by orcs and hobgoblins and worse, that still lurk not so far away in the frowning mountains; a place where pirates walk the streets in the thinnest of disguises. A city of the bold and the grasping, of the youthful and daring. Home of the reckless and the wild-spirited, where a dragon lies atop heaps of gold in the city coffers, and so much magic crackles and sparkles in the very stones underfoot that disenchanters are drawn to it from around the world. A real place, not a folktale. A place called Ravens Bluff, where adventurers are at home and wonders almost commonplace. A place where Faerûnian elves that crave excitement are looking over even now. A place that is truly alive. I'm looking for a group of 7 players, so that on any given night we will have 6. If all seven show up, that's fine too. This will be a Pathfinder game set in Forgotten Realms. So source material from Forgotten Realms might be allowed with DM Approval. All Players start at level 1. All players make their own characters. The party must have some balance to it. Stats - You have 84 points to spread out amongst the 6 stats. Not the normal point buy system. A 18 costs 18, a 10 costs 10 etc. You may not have any stat lower than a 6. Classes allowed - All Core and Base classes from the Pathfinder SRD. Races Allowed - All Core and some Forgotten Realms with DM Approval. Alignment - Non evil. Money - Max starting. Bonus Starting Equipment - 1 Potion of Healing, and either a +1 melee weapon, or a +1 large steel shield, or a +1 ring of protection. You may not be from Raven's Bluff. You will start on a caravan trying to get to this city you have heard about. Play times - Thursdays, but due to my work schedule will vary from week to week. One Thursday will be 1830 to 2230 or 2300 EDT, and the other week will be 1730 to 2130 or 2200 EDT. We will have to skip a week occasionally on the 1730 start time weeks, depending on my schedule. The weeks that start at 1830 will be pretty constant. I work until 1800 but am usually home by 1830. Give me a few minutes if needed. Voice Chat - That's how I'll be doing most of the conversations in the game. I'm new to DM'ing here, but not new to DMing, so you will have to bear with me as I figure it all out. (Getting better now with some sessions under our belts.) I will not necessarily take the first people that come along. I will take the people that seem the best fit, and can enjoy a campaign that will continue for some time. I am usually available for questions during the week, and can help with meta knowledge or whatever else you need. The first 10 adventures are already planned out. They will be your journey to get to the city, and then to begin to learn about different important personages within the city, and the different organizations within. Questions are ALWAYS welcome.

Hey! Me and my bud have been looking for a pathfinder game for a bit, and this seems like a good match. We've both have had some experience with 3.5, and 4e, and numerous other games, we haven't got any experience in Pathfinder. If you were to accept us, I would most likely play a fighter, while my friend would want to play a Gunslinger if that fit, or if didn't fit into your setting, he would play a Magus, and if that once again didn't fit, he would play a Paladin. But we are both willing to fill any role needed. :) -Julio
Oh let me add the friends that are going to play will be. 1. Fighter 2. Cleric 3. Some Arcane Flavor.
this sounds like fun. i could play a arcane duelist bard, or maybe a rouge.
Very interested, both times are perfect for me.. I have decent amount of pathfinder experience and would like to join. I will most likely play either ranger or a rouge.
I sent PM's out to most of you with some questions.
I'm interested in playing. I'm available basically every day and those times are perfect for me.
I'm interested, not sure about the time difference though? I'm GMT. Would be looking to play a summoner? ( would be first time, usually stick to rogues and sorcerors)
UTC -5. :)
I love the forgotten Realms, been playing in it since 2nd edition ( though im only 30 ). Really love to get involved in this, and finally play a bard in pathfinder (or various other things, depending on how the group fills out). Hope to hear from you.
Well if everyone goes through with making a character that has discussed with me today, then I only have room for one more.
I would love to join but I wouldn't be able to make every other Thursday but just about any other day would work. I have 9 years experience with 3.5/Pathfinder and a host of characters that can be used to fill any party role.
Nope that's the only day that works for my 2 friends that want to play, sorry.
Wish I could play that night =( I love the realms and especially the Ravens Bluff area of the world. Sounds like you all will have a great game =)
A couple of people failed to show, but our first night went really well, other than first time RollD20 DM hiccups. :) We have a fighter, cleric, ranger, rogue. We will have a wizard in a few weeks when a friend gets settled in from moving and such. Looking for 2 more so that on any given night we have a solid 6. If everyone comes 7 works too. I'm looking for a paladin. I'm looking for one other. A summoner would be neat to see how they play out never really having had one in a group, but that is not firm like wanting a paladin in the group. Here is the link to the game listing: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/16792/ravens-bluff-the-living-city
Found a magus, looking for a paladin still.
Well our paladin appears to sadly have left us. No message/No show for sometime now. So the group is looking to fill out with 1 Paladin. If you are interested in THAT class, then follow us to... https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/16792/ravens-bl... We are now 6 adventures in, and getting ready to start a 2 part adventure next Thursday. Most of the group is level 2 now, but every new player that comes in joins at level 1. This is due to a system of Tiering we use. If X amount of party levels show up tonight I use X creature. But if Y levels show up, I use Y creature. So it does not hurt the party at all, that you are at a different level than they are.
Hey there, I would love to play a gunslinger but if Paladin is needed then Paladin I shall go. If all that is needed is a holy man, then I can definitely rock a gun priest flavor. I'm good for the time, PM me about this?
