In this age of fear and control, will you defy the Empire—or be broken by it? About Me: I’m Wally, or Emperor on discord (over 37,000 hours on Roll20). Email me - walterjcarterjr@gmail.com Or Discord if you prefer, Emperor#9944 I’ll give you a quick summary. I’m 35 from California. I’ve been DMing since 2013. I run many games, including D&D 5e (2014), Star Wars Saga Edition, Shadowrun, Dragon Age, but not exclusively. I’ve run dozens of campaigns and games over the years and still love it. The vast majority of my content is homebrew and unique to my gaming style, although I have borrowed from many sources over the years. The Setting Set in the middle reign of the Empire, Dawn of Defiance places you in a galaxy where the Jedi are nearly extinct, the Sith rule from the shadows, and the Imperial war machine tightens its grip on every world. You begin as unlikely operatives—mercenaries, fugitives, ex-soldiers, or Force-sensitive survivors—drawn into a secret conflict against an Imperial project tied to ancient power and control over life itself. As you travel from war-torn planets to hidden strongholds, you’ll uncover a conspiracy that could shape the fate of the galaxy before the Rebellion even begins. Gameplay focuses on a balance of tactical combat, narrative-driven roleplay, and high-stakes decision-making, using the fast-paced mechanics of Saga Edition. Players will engage in blaster firefights, starship encounters, infiltration missions, and moral dilemmas that test loyalty, sacrifice, and identity under Imperial rule. Choices matter—alliances, use of the Force, and even moments of mercy or brutality can shape your path and the story around you. This is a campaign about rising against impossible odds, where every mission could be the one that sparks hope… or seals your fate. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/421049/star-wars-dawn-of-defiance Expectations I run open, sandbox, player-centric original content games. The central theme is established, and the story is there, but these are elements the players choose to engage with, and I let the players write their own tales. I'm excited about the outcome of the players' choices. I do care how the story unfolds for them, although I try to make the most dramatic things happen; the dice and the players' actions are the final arbiters. On that note, I roll everything secretly unless im look to cause a high tense moments, then I'll openly roll. Some of my games are based on themes and ideas I’ve come up with, and the players pick others. I play many different styles of games. I’m open to basically anything. If you have an idea for a campaign, don’t be afraid to present it. I make most of my own maps when I have time and make custom tokens for each player. I detail my loot with the players in mind and richly reward them, be it items, titles, abilities, and feats. I roll randomly, but I like giving out ridiculous loot that makes no sense, in comedic reasons or just as a pure story point, just to see what the player would do with a wish spell or three. Care about the stories and fun we make because were all just wanting to live a different life.
