Date: 26 Wealsun, 609 CY (Friday October 18th, 2014) Attendance: Jericho ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Recap: Resuming after the battle with the tribals, the party tries to figure out a way to communicate with the one that they captured alive. Clifton is hesitant to use his mysterious powers, however, so Jericho does the next best thing: he splits the tribal's skull open with his axe. Eventually the four reach Marlgrove; Jetch, Gick, and Frodrick are nowhere to be found. A guard tells the party about the attack and about the village and its citizens. They are then granted entry. They go to the only building that seems occupied -- The Weeping Lizard Inn. Here they are initially regarded with distrust, particularly Ash, who the simple-minded townsfolk feel may be responsible for creating the beast that attacked the village. The proprietor of the Inn soon quells these feelings, however, and offers the group his "house special" (a poorly brewed rotgut). Clifton promptly goes upstairs, trying to rest off a thigh injury he received from a tribal's spear. Thruskk joins him, while Ash and Jericho discuss musical instruments at their table. Eventually they too turn in for the night, hoping to meet with the mayor the following morning. Jericho sleeps with his back against the door, rather than on the bed itself. On Clifton's watch, around 3 AM, someone tries to open the door. Ash goes to investigate, and finds an open window with a rope attached to the sill. A crossbow bolt suddenly pierces the wall next to her head. A crazed man with a mace then charges at her. A battle ensues; Clifton is nearly killed trying to create some distance between him and the man. He bleeds out, but Ash manages to stabilize him using her knowledge of medicine. Towards the end, the man attempts to flee: Thruskk chops off his legs and Jericho decapitates him. Great roleplay done by everyone; especially like how Thruskk speaks like a dignified, intelligent person in Orcish and then proceeds to ask about the "Sporklebutt" in broken common. Next session will be next Friday, 8 PM. The following session (on Halloween) will not be mandatory. However, expect some Halloween-themed goodies for those who attend.
