It is evening in the shady town of Curast. Groups of different bandit gangs roam the streets. Most sensible people have gone to their homes or the tavern. From the east a group of soldiers walks into town. Looking for something, or someone.... This is a campaign i created myself and ran with great success for 2 groups already. I have been able to perfect it more and am looking forward to play it with people who i don't know. Its a deep moving story that takes the party of heroes through an Epic tale and tests their strengths and cunning. Taking them all over the world of Carael. I am looking for some Male and Female players because that generally gives a more diverse experience. New people are welcome but experienced players just as much. We will start from Level 1 and this will be a long time project. Playing once a week at 8PM Cest (20:00 paris/amsterdam/stockholm time) The days are not yet set but the choice is Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday. Make a post to tell me your age, if you're a male or female and if you are new or experienced. Looking forward to start playing with you guys. ------------------- Edited: Someone asked me some great questions which i think might give you all more info about me and the campaign so i post them here so you guys know a bit more: 1) What is the generation method for characters' ability scores? - The groups that played this campaign with me so far used the PHB standard of 10-11-12-13-14-16. I'd like to keep that tradition to have well balanced Player Characters. 2) Are there any limitations in terms of class, race, sourcebook that's off-limits? - I am using a world-map that i created myself with the regions being controlled by different races. This is based on the PHB 4e. So i prefer for the players to use the races and classes from the 4e PHB. Maybe if a different race (not from PHB) would fit in the story i might allow it. depending on the race. 3) Are there any other limitations or non-standard things? Alignment, less or more starting gold? Houserules? - On character creation i'm being very basic. Everyone plays either Law-good, good, or unaligned. This is a GOOD campaign where you guys need to save the world and help a lot of NPC's. I don't want people wasting the story by killing everyone on sight. As for gold: Everyone starts with 100 gold BEFORE character creation. So after buying gear and equipment most of you will be left with 15-20 gold to start the campaign with. We play from level 1 and you guys are not going to be rich. But you'll make money over time...dont worry about that :). 4) As this seems to be set in a custom setting, any peculiarities of the setting would be appreciated! Is there a race that's hated, a race that doesn't exist, perhaps arcane magic is viewed as evil, perhaps the world is a dark place because the forces of evil won the war 100 years ago, perhaps the setting is extremely low-magic... anything of the sort? - I don't want to spoil to much of the story but i can give some basic info: The (known) World Carael consists of 2 huge landmasses. 1 East side and 1 West side, seperated by a broad river (and part sea) almost right in the middle. The south part of the map is mostly ocean with some (known) island groups in the south west, far south of the western continent. The continents are divided into different kingdoms and empires based on the different races. That doesn't mean that the races stick to their own kingdoms. You will find elves, dwarves, dragonborn, tieflings in the human kingdom and the otherway around. However: every kingdom has their likes and dislikes. Example: (small spoiler alert) as you will find soon that in the human kingdom (where the adventure starts), most humans don't like or accept half-elfs (or their human/elf parents combination). And every race from the 4e PHB still exists and most of them have their own kingdoms/lands. except for Tieflings and half-elfs who don't have a land to call their own. The biggest kingdom is the human kingdom. They also spread out the most among the other races. This is because of the paladin order. They were mostly humans in the beginning but in the last decades they have been roaming the world teaching different races the way of the paladin. As a result of this necromancy is forbidden and most of Vecna's followers have been locked up or killed. 5) You're particular about genders of the players, but are you demanding the characters be of gender corresponding to the player, or is the 'imagination' button working? - im not gender-locking anyone. I just enjoy having both men and women in the adventure cos it creates a dynamic you don't have with only men or only women. i don't mind if a guy plays a girl or the other way around. I do want them to play it realistically though. 6) The campaign style and ratio of narration/story vs. player-driven roleplay vs. combat - any detail you can provide is welcome! - I divide my campaign up in episodes like a tv show. The main focus of the campaign is the big deep story that i try to create with the players. So that would be both narration with role play combined. And like a good tv show, variation is key. I have some episodes with ALOT of encounters and combat, and some episodes that hardly see any combat at all. I try to create moments where the story can go multiple ways and let the players decide which way to go. In short: i like all 3, and try to have plenty of each with variation. 7) A bit about yourself as a person and your DMing style, as much as you're comfortable providing! - I am a 26 year old Dutch guy who fell in love with story telling and epicness. I'm the kind of guy that thinks about his campaign throughout the week. I might be working or watching tv and suddenly just get a great idea for an episode in the campaign. My phone notepad is full of notes with ideas of storyline, combat events, and NPC idea's that i can't wait to use. i go with the style of describing a situation the way its presented to the players and end with the phrase: ''so what do you do now...?'' Also, even though i played the campaign 2 times now with 2 different groups...the episodes are not set in stone. Because no D&D group is the same...no 2 episodes can be the same. I know what the campaign is about and what is going on...but it's together with the players that i write the true story for that group. And i will change the whole thing on the spot if the players play with creativity and passion. I love to plan the whole thing...but love just as much to throw all the plans to the side and improvise on the spot. I love this game...I guess, that's who i am as a DM. I hope this answers your (and maybe some other people's) questions. If you have any more...feel free to ask. Now i have a closing question: If you would join this campaign in this setting...what race, gender and class would you like to play? For Glory and Honor! Aeletzio
Full info is written with times and possible days now. if you have any questions, let me know.

Hi I am 26 male and from Germany and I am experienced with 4e. I would like to play a Half-Orc Archer Ranger and it would be great if we could play Sundays.
Hello there. I am 22 years old, male and from Germany. I have played a fair amount of 4e and am quite familiar with the rules.. As i have campaigns on Tuesday and Sunday, i am only available Thursdays. It is still not quite clear to me wether Classes/Races from all PHB's are allowed or only PHB I, If it's the former i would probably play a Warden. In the latter case i might resort to a Paladin.

Hi! 22, male, from Sweden here, have at least a few years of experience with 4e, though it has been a while. I currently have games going on all weekend, so Tuesday and Thursday would be my days of choice. If you're willing to allow some material from Heroes of Shadow, I'd love to play a Vryloka; otherwise, a half-elf would be my race of choice. Haven't decided if I'm going Warlock or Sorcerer yet, but probably something along those lines.
Hello, I am 22, male, with experience with 4e and on the EST time zone. All of your days work for me. I am about to finish up a campaign and would love to enter into another for 4e. I am consistent and serious about the game and am looking for a group that feels the same. I am relatively open in regards to what class I would play. In the past I have played a druid/cleric and a paladin. I enjoyed both and would mind experiencing that again or a new character.PM me and I will give my skype name if you want to discuss more.

Hello everyone ;).I am 27 year old male, i am from czech republic and i would be glad if i could join your game, that is, if you still have a room left ;) I have plenty experience with DnD in general, but i ve played only few games with fourth edition so far. As for characters...i mostly tend play as healer or dexterity based damager (like rogue or ranger)but i also always wanted to try a fighter in 4th edition ...so if it would be up to me, my choice for a character would be one of these: Dwarven Fighter, Elven Ranger or Goblin Rogue (if that would be possible in your game)....but for sake of group balance, i can take any character that my party will need most ;) As for days, i would prefer Thursday...(or Tuesday if you are willing to start at 9pm instead of 8.) If you would have any more questions about me fell free to ask through PM ;)
Hello! I am a 24 year old male from North Dakota and your game sounds really interesting. I just got invited to my first face to face game in years on Thursdays, so I'd say Tuesdays works best for me. Time wise I can easily make the 8pm thing as I have morning shifts. I have a great deal of experience with DnD, including working with a 3rd party publisher at one point. As far as characters go, there are so many I could play depending on what the party composition is already. I love playing paladins, even in 4e where they're slightly changed, but I have ideas for an invoker, Avenger, cleric, warlord, rogue, Barbarian... honestly you name it and I probably have an idea for it! And I mean an idea that I'd flesh out, with a backstory probably too long for most peoples taste rich with detail!
