D&D 3.5 - Using magic on the character sheets?

I'm attempting to fill out my first 3.5 D&D sheet on here, I'm geeked that there are so many linked fields in the sheet (e.g. armor class, totals for saves, etc.) but I'm curious as to how I'm supposed to fill out the magic section. The end result that I'd like is to be able to make a macro for certain spells like say...a fireball... that would ask for a target token and then calculate the damage. I'm curious to even know where I'd start :"> I have read through the macro section and I'm a little fuzzy on how I would apply it to things like the magic section of the character sheet. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to flesh out a Gothic Horror style Eberron campaign, so I've got my work cut out for me!! Thanks, Asmo

The magic section is designed to hold any type of macro you want to put in there. You can click the button next to it to run the macro, but since the magic sections are repeating fields, you will not be able to pull the buttons down to the macro bar; you'll have to create your own macros under the abilities tab if you want to be able to have them on the bar or as a token action. I put a few sample macros in on the lower level sections and you can put as little or as much information in as you like. My group tends to use them as GM/player reminders and to signal the start of a timer on a spell cast ie: /em Inspires Courage in all allies within earshot! As long as the bard sings and for 5 rounds after, affected allies receive a +[[ceil((@{casterlevel}-7)/6)+1]] morale bonus on saving throws vs charm and fear attacks as well as a +[[ceil((@{casterlevel}-7)/6)+1]] morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls. (mind-affecting ability) Some of the spell macro's I've written/my group has used can be found at : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1g8fUu5XTvAw8_... There's a mixed bag in there; some use targets, some have queries for information to be typed in manually. Hope that helps. Diana
Wow! Yes, that helps tremendously. I see that I am going to have some poor sap in my gaming group writing out macros for his character >_> . I'll probably end up doing most of them lol. Thank you so much! As I said before, I have a lot of work to do if I want this game up and running, but I think it's definitely going to be worth it! Thanks again, Asmo

Hope you don't mind if we "borrow" some of your macros. Quite a time saver. Thanks

:D Not a problem. I don't post stuff if I'm not gonna let other folks use them. Glad you'll find them of use. Diana
I'm going to do my best to return the favor. ;)
