LFG 5e new player

I am looking to join a new player friendly group. I own the PHB, but have never played a real game before. I would like weekly games either Tuesday, Thursday or Friday mornings. If anybody is part of a group like this or wants to form one with me, let me know.
I am in the same boat as you. Own the Player's Handbook and am eager to try it out. Lots of experience GMing (but not playing) Pathfinder, but have not had a chance to try 5th ed out. It looks fun. I would prefer to play as I currently run a game on Friday's I am free Thursdays. If we could get some more people and a willing DM we could form a group.
What timezone are you guys in? I'm not sure I can make weekly games on weekdays (it's one of the reasons I find myself lacking D&D), but I'd really like to try out 5E after reading the new PHB. I could probably DM, but it'd take me some time to read up on the new rules.

I also have been trying to find a game to play for a while. Already have two, and one on hiatus. I own the PHB, MM and I am free most days out of the week. The timezone I am in is CST. (GMT-6)
id be down to play during the week if the time is right im relavtively new to 5e but have expierence
Well guys, we definitely could have a group here. Why not everyone message me their Skype info and I'll set up a group. We can continue talking from there, get times set, find out if we need to search for a DM or not, etc., etc.
Is there any reason we can't use the Google Hangouts or built-in voice chat options roll20 offers? I'd rather not give my Skype account to just anyone if there are other possibilities.

How does it work?
It seems to be integrated with the roll20 systems, it's a web-based application allowing voice and video chat, working with a Google Account. I'm new to Roll20, though, so I have no clue how these would work out in practice. I could also simply make a Skype account for D&D purposes, I guess.
i might be crazy, but i don't understand the big deal of "giving out skype info" i try to set up a skype group for -every- game group i'm involved with, whether we use skype to play or not. then the group has a place for OOC chat (instead of spamming up the in-game chat), as well as a way to contact the others directly in case things come up. ie, just drop a line "hey guys, due to RL stuff, game is gonna start 1h late today" or "my house exploded, logged in at a cafe to let you all know i can't make game today" or whatever. more on-topic, i'd be interested in joining, depending on the day and time you end up with
Never mind. I just created a Skype account to use for D&D group purposes. Good points, by the way.
