Or even a "like" system for all threads in general. Some people like the topic, but have nothing to contribute. Not all of us like the traditional "+1" bump comment. I know it's become sort of frowned upon.

The old forums had the ability to up or down vote threads and posts.  I kind of miss that.  Here's hoping it's something on the list for when whey get to working on community features.

+1, I really like the system dropbox uses: "votebox" where the users can show what areas of development they care most about.
