D&D 5E NPC Traits macro in character sheet sends part of message as general message

When you use the NPC traits macro button on the character sheet tab of the NPC character sheet, if the information is too long it will send the second part of the text as a general message instead of a GM whisper.

Try keeping your long text together without a carriage return. You can also use /w gm "enter some text" inside the text area to make a new paragraph. And a bonus tip, you can also enter inline rolls and url's. :-)

Don't worry about it Zach. The question I have: Is this just one long sentence that wraps into a second line by itself or are you using the carriage return (enter key) to start a second line? If you start the second line with the enter key, that is what Vince is mentioning. If it wraps down to the second line and causes that, that could be an indication of a problem with the sheet in how it is set up.
Yep, it was the carriage return(totally know why it's called that>.>) thanks for the help! I replaced the....carriage returns... with a bunch of spaces which the macro conveniently leaves out! weird way of doing it but I shall remember it in the future! thanks again Vince! And thanks Pat for the clarification and move^_^ already love this site for the forums as much as the program!

I used my Dad's manual typewriter to make custom character sheets for AD&D as a kid... thought I was soooo cool.

You are welcome Zach and glad we could help you. Oh with it being the user input error, I'm moving this thread over to the specific question forum instead of sheet error. If you need more help then feel free to ask.

After hitting enter, make sure to add "/w gm" so the next line of the macro will also be a GM whisper.

Theres no way currently for the sheet to output multi line data without it being sent to the general channel. As others have suggested the way around this is to start any new line in any section of the NPC section of the sheet with a "/w GM" to ensure that any additional data is also whispered to the GM. Hopefully, with the ability to do some basic formatting of the output this can be avoided in the future without having to add extra spaces or commands to something you enter on the sheet but for now the options are leavie t all on one line, use spaces, or start any lines after the first one (where you have used a carraige return) with "/w GM"
