DND4E lvl 12 Underdark Campaign. Anyone interested?

Slaves trying to escape from the slums of a drow city. I think it would be a fun Monday game.
I might be interested, but depends on the time - do you have any session times in mind?
Same depending on what time i might be interested.
10pm EST, or 9pm Central for me. I think that works out to 6pm pacific time?
That is 7 pm pacific I think. Anyway, I'd be interested in that case, if you don't mind playing with a newbie (only played to level 3 so far).
What kind of character creation rules were you thinking about?
No teleportation centric classes since that would make escape too easy. You guys will be at paragon tier. The only thing is that at the beginning you probably will only be able to get simple weapons and maaaaaybe two or three military weapons to divide among the group after the breakout. Also, please don't be too much of a munchkin. I don't mind having two or three attacks on your own turn but having five attacks isn't all that great to deal with. Everyone can have one theme and one background. This is a points of light setting though, so don't go in thinking of Forgotten Realms Underdark.
So, are you planning to run the actual breakout from slavery? I would suggest having the party already escaped and on the run.
It won't be a hard breakout. And the environment will be conducive to escape, so I'm confident it'll make for good roleplay.
So...starting wealth? Or no wealth cuz we're slaves?
No wealth. Don't worry too much about gold, though. It won't be too hard to come by. Or magical items either. The destitute nature is just for flavor while the characters are in bondage.
I mean what books are legal? races, classes. Then what feats and powers books are legal.
I'd love to join in here, but I was also wondering about the legal classes/races.
AWESOME!!!! I WANT IN!!! Summer is coming, school is almost out and I'm itching to play some 4e!
Also what material is legal (please say everything)?
I'd love to join, and I agree with Billy i'm hoping all material is legal for character creation. Sign me up!
Would classes from other campaigns be allowed like the Changeling for example? I'm new to D&D but I'd definitely like to join a campaign.
I really want in! I have to get in on and play one of your games Wannableach :P Inherent bonuses starting unarmed, or mundane implement? (thinking of a ki-focused class, which is an personal/internal sort of thing with a meditative token object)
Sorry, went to bed. Everything is legal, just don't don't don't break the game, okay? So all the official player books, splatbooks, Dragon magazines, etc are fine. Go easy on the Dark Sun/Eberron/Forgotten Realms themed stuff, though. I want to reiterate that this is a Points of Light setting, so while I don't mind you guys taking classes, themes, and backgrounds from those books and using their mechanical benefits, you'll have to fluff them accordingly to be part of the Nentir Vale setting.
So do you have any clue to when you'll start accepting players or making the campaign?

Post character concepts and links to character sheets on the campaign or email them to me at voipmailbot@gmail. We will be using roll20+google hangout for voicechat for the sessions.
really? :( ugh, i hate looking at the roll20 interface through hangouts, it squashes it all down to make room for the video bar at the bottom, which i wont be using anyways. oh well, will have to bare with it i suppose... by the way, for my character concept: does monk unarmed strike count as a weapon for the executioners finesse and assassins strike? "You hit with a Weapon attack"
You can open hangouts in one tab, and roll20 in another - you don't need to pay attention to the roll20 app within hangouts. Works just fine, have done it a few times already.
if im on wifi though wouldn't it clog the bandwidth to have roll20 running in two tabs, one hangout and one regular? just wondering
Without knowing more details, I'm going to say "probably not"
I'm going to start to invite people soon. So far we have 1 leader and 2 striker/controller types. Would like to see a defender, and maybe another leader as well.
i saw a bard (leader) cleric/ranger (leader/striker) Psion (controller) rogue/wizard (striker/controller) and executioner/warlock (striker/striker) Defenders tend to be beefy melee controllers, and if they take the right powers, controllers can fill a very similar role. psions who have at-will 1 disharten apply the -2 to attack of a mark, and the level 7 at-will insidious doubt, deal cha mod damage to them if they use an opportunity attack or immediate attack. so if built right, a party doesnt need a defender (but they can be handy)
Eric is stepping up to play the defender role, so that's squared away for now. Honestly, right now I'm a bit gun-shy seeing so many hybrids. I'm sure I can find a way to make everyone's chosen identities work, but I wouldn't mind someone taking a full class role too.
well my hybrid is just a dark-arcane/martial double striker hybrid. so its a different take on an assassin without the dumb shrouds of the O-assassin. I'm a magical killer, and hired gun
How long do you reckon each session will last?
I want them to be around 3 hours each, Gabby.
I'll Switch to an eldritch knight build... I'll post character with a bit of backstory in a moment.
I already built a knight. So we are good on tank, dont think we need 2 of the same.
also the eldritch knight is an eladrin teleporting defender, which Wannableach said little to no teleports (makes escape TOO easy)
Ok then... I submit a pyromancer, blood mage...
I looked over our current applications, and on last look we have: a bard (leader) cleric/ranger (leader/striker) psion (controller) knight (defender) pyromancer (aoe blaster "striker") wizard-MC-rogue (controller +damage) and executioner/warlock (striker/striker). seems fairly balanced
Holy shit 7 people.
This will be interesting.
I'm standing by my 5 player maximum, but I'll invite everyone who has posted a thread in the campaign so far. I'll be picking the people who show up from the Monday session for the campaign, but we'll see how many people there are overall. If there happens to be 8-10 people, then I might think about making a second campaign. Given that, it won't be too bad of an idea to make a second character that can fill another role. The second campaign, if there is one at all, will probably be the same level but a group trying to destroy the city from the outside. The only thing is that the second group will most likely have to be scheduled on Saturdays or Sundays.
So the party as it currently stands is Bard, Psion, Executioner|warlock, knight, and pyromancer.
Sheesh, really range heavy. That doesnt make me as effective but ok.
I think I'm changing to a meleeish character. Hopefully he gets approved, as he does have minor at will teleport (2-squares) and a teleportation power or two... but as I mentioned on the main campaign page now, the cold iron shackles stop teleportation...
Are you guys making your characters without items and weapons/armor or any Expertise feats? Or do we create a full 12th level character and then just say we don't currently have the gear? Are you using Inherent Bonuses at first (until we find appropriate items) to make the math work out? Or will the DM adjust the monster stats to make it work. I'm not asking because I want to optimize or because I'm a munchkin...I just never made a high level character like that before.
I'll be adjusting the monsters.
Doubleposting, but this warrants its own post. David R and Gabby O have more or less signed up for Monday times. Would anyone else like to say which day, Saturday or Monday or either, that they would prefer? It would help me out immensely.
So...if I make a Paladin, for example, he will not have plate armor or a shield? His AC will be about 16 since he probably doesn't have a high dex/int. The wizard will have an AC of 21 because of his high int. I'm just trying to understand how this can work.
Yup. That would be your struggle and trial for freedom!
you said we could have mundane leather armor in a different post though, didn't you? billy, didnt you forget the cleric/ranger and wizard/rogue? I'd prefer monday over saturdays (occasionally have parties on saturdays so couldnt game then)
Mondays for me... Though this monday, i'll be there... but more in spirit than in mind as next week is finals...
Monday is good for me as well (4pm Hawaii)
Monday play slot is currently filled at full 5 characters. DM might be organizing a saturday game, i leave further details to him. (posted since people still seem to be applying)
