Hello LFG forum, I'm trying to round up one last player for my beginning campaign of Monte Cook's 'The Strange'. I have 3 players, which is enough to start, but the goal is to get up to 4 as I've found that to be the sweet spot. The game will be tonight (Saturday) at 7pm EST so there is not a lot of time. I'd need to hear from someone probably by 2pm EST so we'd have time to talk and get a character made. This is my hail mary attempt to get a player now so he can be there from Game1 instead of coming in Game2+. I feel like players that are there from the start will fit in better, they'll be learning at the same time the others are learning and feel more welcome'd. Interested players will want to read the LFG listing, I do have a few requirements for players. 1) Microphone (not optional) 2) Webcam (for Roll20 video, not optional) 3) Skype (for voice) 4) US Eastern or Central timezone Strange Saturdays - LFG listing The Strange If you haven't heard of the Strange, it uses Monte Cook's Cypher system. The rules are more or less identical to Numenera. As a player in a Numenera game I've really grown to love the system. Character creation is quick yet spits out very distinct characters. Since you choose 3 different 'pieces' a Brash Vector who Conducts Weird Science can be very different from a Graceful Vector who Looks for Trouble - despite both being the same "class" (Vector). Then on top of that you have your cyphers, which the system gets it's name from, which are technically items but are more like one time use special abilities. They're easy to find and you can get some neat abilities to even further distinguish your character - though they're random, so some creativity might be required to make the most of them. The setting is a little strange, as you might gather from the name. Essentially it's modern day Earth but you can travel to different Recursions, which you can think of as other dimensions. Many of these are formed through 'fictional leakage' from Earth, so you can very well find Star Wars, Star Trek, Warhammer, Warcraft, Oz, Wonderland - all the big name fictions likely have a recursion out there somewhere. In this campaign players will be working for the Estate, an organization that strives to protect Earth from elements of the Strange that might destroy it. As you might imagine the Death Star appearing in the sky might be problematic... If that sounds fun please check out the LFG. If you're still interested after that then send me a PM. If you don't see this until it's too late to make it into tonight's game, there is still next weeks game and beyond.
Player found, game is full.
