Hair Color Poll

Funny little poll here. When playing in a fantasy/medieval setting, what hair color do you most often choose for your character? For that matter, what general appearance do you shoot for your characters to have more often than not?
This is probably going to be unhelpful, but: Depends on what race the character is.  I play a lot of Greyhawk based campaigns and even the human ethnicities vary pretty widely.  I'd probably say normal colors more often than wild stuff like purple, though.  Brown, Black, Blond, and Red would probably cover most of my normal choices, though.

I just randomly roll the color on a chart that is based on gender and race. I've gone from bald to silver with occasional golden yellow or magenta if it is anima based game.
I go dark hair for most male characters I create.  For NPCs I go Male: Mainly dark, grey or blond second, never red. Female: Evenly split between dark, blond and red. Rarely grey or white. I avoid going with the crazier hair and eye colors for humans, as I want to make them as instinctively relatable as possible to real life.
It really depends on the type of character I'm playing, I tailor everything about the character to fit with the vision of the character. Brunette is very common however, as I am brunette. I play brunettes when the character is a very average character or personality, or when the character is closely tied to me as a person. They are practical, but still can be brazenly heroic. Example: Kai Carpenter, system Pathfinder, Setting: 14th century Latvia. He was a craftsman with a desire to adventure, but he bit off more than he could chew on it and retired before he could end up dead. I play blondes as fun-loving or carefree characters. Most of my characters are very "heroic" but my blondes have a tendency to go the extra mile on heroism. They have a strong sense of justice offset by a blazee attitude that seems phaseless. Example: Alden Keladry, system FFRPG, Setting: Kingdom Hearts Alternate Universe. He was an amnesiac keybearer of unfailingly good-nature and stupidly heroic, a lot of fun to play. I also have a good number of pale or white-haired characters and I play them as having something that made them to have matured quickly. Every white-haired character I've made has had a tragic past, some have turned hotheaded to offset the tragedy, others cool and calculating, trying to set things back into place. Example: Deianera "Mystery" Andoran, system: Play by post story. Setting: Akin to Roman Colosseum. Mystery was a noblewoman that hated her parents for trying to pigeonhole her into their idea of being female, when all she wanted was to be a soldier like her brother. The last straw was when they arranged for her to marry, she killed them and took her life as her own. She wasn't always white-haired, originally a brunette, but long training in the desert bleached the color out of her hair. She denied everything of being a woman and became a criminal sent to the colosseum to fight for freedom, but she would commit crime after crime just to go back and fight more. Other hair-colors are rare and are brought out only to suit setting or if the character is supposed to stand out for having a more unique hair color. Or if the race I'm playing just happens to have those colors as natural colors, OR the system uses random color generation like MAID RPG.
Well unless i'm playing a female or something not human or elf, i would use my own appearance in games when possible.
