Gimme the loot, gimme the loot

100 gp gems 1 Watery-gold Amber 1 Opaque- crimson coral (4) Translucent-light-green jades 1 Black Jet 1 Green-Red-Pink Tourmaline Potion of stone giant strength (Strength becomes 23 for 1 hour) (3) Potions of superior healing (heals 8d4+8 HP) How do you want to divvy it up? I am volunteering to hold on to the gems until we can make them more liquid assets.
If we're gonna make them liquid, they should go to the character who has the highest charisma, and then boost them with some bard inspiration and such. As for potions, I'd like the strength potion since I've probably been the least in danger throughout the whole campaign, not to brag or anything. Therefor potions of health aren't as necessary as some of the other characters.
Well, I was only volunteering to hold them, not to convert them!
Lol I'm talking about turning them into liquid currency. Sell them to a buyer, but use the character with the best chance of using a charisma check to negotiate for a better deal.
Well, i guarantee you no one can sweet talk a vendor better than I can. I have my ways. So it's settled, I'll hold on to 800gp worth of jewels, and anything else no one wants to responsibility of managing and we'll see it first chance we get.
I've still gotta sell my plate armor. But I have no objections. We can sell the stuff together.
I'm all for selling them, I'll also hold onto a health potion should we need it.
I'll include the gems in my personal inventory, but not in my individual wealth. Honestly, our best bet is to not covert it into gold because we'll never get full value, and instead keep it in gems and use them as currency if someone happens upon something valuable that they want. Plus, 800hp worth of gems is significantly lighter than 800gp. In fact, until I find a way to send my excess gold to my benefactor, I plan on buying jewelry or gems as a means of storing my wealth because of the weight advantage. Unless I find a bag of holding or handy haversack, (hint, hint).
I don't think you have to worry about gems and art objects selling for lower than their value. Rob might have to rule on it, but it seems to me that 100 gp gems are worth 100 gp.
Probably, but its probably still best to not covert them thanks to the portability benefit.
But conversely, it's easier to steal. You got a diamond, one solitary object that makes no noise, worth 5000 gp, or 5000 gp in coins. It's a lot easier to steal the one small object than the 5000 small objects. We should look into some form of economic substitute, like bank notes or bills that would only be usable with our respective identifier seal or something. Assuming the Jixian, and later Kheir economy is that advanced.
Converse to it being easier to steal, its easier to conceal. I mean, its a handful of gems instead of a giant pile of coins.
What sort of items would y'all be interested in buying? I haven't spent time with the DM's guide to know the price of magic items just yet. Who has their eye on what?

I actually don't have any needs right now, though maybe when we get rich, I'll open an orphanage.
I need something upwards of 2k to get the initial upgrades to my custom sword. It'll be a +1 upgrade and a minor enchantment. Then I plan on upgrading it two more times, adding another +1 and another enchantment. Maybe I'll even see if I can awaken the spirit of my ancestor inside of it, since since there are a few Asian beliefs that hold that when a warrior dies, their spirit stays in their weapon to guide the next wielder. Once my sword is all tricked out to max, all I have left is to gain enough money to buy over my entire village and become the leader of my tribe. I'll build it up and such, and I think I might retire him after that.
I'd recommend keeping the gems. I mean, you can always break them like a hundred dollar bill if need arises. I'd recommend splitting the gems evenly between all party members. 2 of the party gets 2 gems instead of 1. The other four split the remaining 4 potions evenly. Character 1: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 2: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 3: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 4 : 1 gem, 1 potion of stone giant strength Character 5: 2 gems Character 6: 2 gems That seems the most fair to me, and you can always give it or take it as needed. In Kheir, you can deposit into banks. But on Jixia, that doesn't seem as likely.
Ok cool. If it's alright with everyone, I'll take the jet gem and potion of stone giant strength.
It doesn't matter to me if I take 2 gems or a potion and 1 gem.
I'll take a gem and a potion of superior healing considering I'm usually at the forefront of the party.
Tam : 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 2: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 3: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Marco : 1 gem, 1 potion of stone giant strength Character 5: 2 gems Character 6: 2 gems
Tam : 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 2: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 3: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Marco : 1 gem, 1 potion of stone giant strength Marit : 2 gems Character 6: 2 gems

Tam : 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 2: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Character 3: 1 gem, 1 potion of superior healing Marco : 1 gem, 1 potion of stone giant strength Marit : 2 gems Orryn : 2 gems (1 Jade and 1 Amber)
For the gems please note which one(s) you're taking specifically like Orryn did
Oh great, now I am the DM's Pet.
I added my new gems to my inventory, and I added a wish list of sorts, but its really just mundane stuff I plan on picking up first chance I get. Both are in my Loot notes in my inventory area.

I'll grab the character 3 gem and healing portion
This was a surprisingly long thread for how to split 8 gems and 4 potions!
Logistics are important lol. You can never have too much logistics.

I'll take whatever is left. Remember guys: none of this stuff has any real value until we get home! Currently we are "ship wrecked" and dividing star bucks gift cards in the sand :p

If you other gems (from other loot before) make sure to differentiate in your inventory the GP value. Trace K. said: Remember guys: none of this stuff has any real value until we get home! Currently we are "ship wrecked" and dividing star bucks gift cards in the sand :p Haha, good points Trace. Vetari, always the wise one. Hey Trace, in regards to Vetari now hunting down Baxius, check out the posts in the "Planning Your Character Arc" thread, where I describe the "3 clue" system I came up with for some of the other characters who are also hunting down individuals in Jixia. I think at least 3 out of 6 of you are all looking for someone specific in Jixia -- maybe Vetari isn't in too much of a rush to get home, I mean, the longer it takes him to find and kill Baxius, the more chance his mother could succumb to the disease in Haven.
