Campaigs / Adventures to Share?

Is there a link to where members have uploaded adventures / campaigns for others to use. If not I would suggest a link to such an area. Is it even possible to export a campaign? As for the adventures, It would be great if users could zip a pre-made or custom adventure for others to use. Just a thought.I can see where throwing together a quick game could come in handy. Even if we had to modify. Bobby

Are you talking about other than Modules (did you see my reply to your question about this in the Specific Use Questions forum?)?

The pre-packaged Roll20 adventures are actually called "modules" which are for-sale in the Marketplace. Those must be purchased, other than that it works kind of like you described (pre-made and sort-of zipped up, made for others to use). Here is the link to look at those options: https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/modules Unfortunately no, we don't have Exporting of a campaign or much in the way of sharing from user-to-user within Roll20, partly for reasons related to copyright, and having to do with the Marketplace also. Nevertheless, note there are 1000's of free adventures and resources online that you can use and share. But they are not zipped-up Roll20 campaigns ready to go out-of-the-box. There are free maps online. There are free 'modules' or 'adventures' which is usually a text, illustrations, and maps, sometimes in paper/print, sometimes in PDF. Some are sold, many are free, if you search around online, depending on your gaming system preferences.

You can buy modules for Roll20 which are ready to go. As for homebrews, there may be a few out there. Most GMs however keep that material underwraps and it's usually tailored for the party. There are tons of modules you can buy from PRG now, DDI, or Paizo, though there will always be setup time since due to copyright, you'll still need to snip and put in the assets yourself. Then again, even for published modules, every GM tweaks/extends/shortens things so they'll usually end up quite different.

The Aaron said: Are you talking about other than Modules (did you see my reply to your question about this in the Specific Use Questions forum?)? I believe the terminology is modules. I did not see a reply to this question previously. I have found plenty of adventure/modules online. I was thinking that if GM's wanted to share an already put together campaign then why not. I do not see a concern for copyright (But I am not versed in the copyright rules). I personally would offer a full campaign for others to use and tweak to their liking. Anyway..I thought it would be a good idea... Another thought is that we could upload them to the marketplace under say: User Created Campaigns . and then others may purchase them at their risk. The funds could be used as a Donation to Roll20. I will definitely check out the marketplace. BTW..I am planning playing D&D 5e. I have not acquired any of the books as of yet so i am not to sure of how much of a change since I last played which was 3.0 and 3.5. I believe i should be able to use one of the modules for Patfinder and make it work for us. Is there anything critical that I need to know? Bobby

Before attempting to make a module I would strongly recommend gaining a little background on copyright and making yourself familiar with any licensing terms your chosen game has (for example the OGL). This will save you heartache in the future if it turn out the module you are working on breaches the law. Roll20 doesn't encourage handing out free material on the basis that they only want to host content they feel is good enough to warrant payment. I know there are plenty of arguments for free and paid content to exist side by side, but that's the model and I respect their decision to handle it that way. I think it is a reasonable minimum bar to ensuring good content. Once you have a module ready to run and set up within Roll20, contact the team and they'll help turn it into something everyone can use. They are awesome-helpful from my own experience. Good luck!
