Vault Characters -- by reference or by value?

When you import a character from a campaign into your Vault, is it imported by reference or by value? That is, if you make changes to the character in the base campaign, will the version of the character in the Vault have the same changes? Or is the Vault character a "snapshot" at the time you imported it?

https://wiki.roll20.net/My_Vault Note that once the Character is in your Vault, it is stored as a "snapshot", meaning that it will no longer update or receive changes from the Campaign it came from. If you want to import an "updated" version of a Character, just delete the existing Character from your vault, and re-import it from the Campaign.
Ah, excellent, thanks. I should have trolled the wiki....
