Looking for a group to play Engine Heart with (futuristic robot-survival game)

Rulebook: http://0-media-cdn.foolz.us/ffuuka/board/tg/image/1348/38/1348382077412.pdf The premise of the game is set in the future when humanity died off, but their service robots are still around. Most are small, though. Some go by their original directives, improvise or change them entirely. The game takes note of your energy, RAM, parts and other things. My time-zone is +2 GMT, my skype is g1ebguy and I am personally free from friday to sunday. Anyone interested? Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm a player, not a GM, sorry. I really can't GM.

when would the campaign be run? I've been reading the link given, and boy does it make my head hurt.

GMing takes the most work. Your game has a good premise. I am eager for anything that's SF but all I see around is D&D and Pathfinder. Where is this game rule file from? How did you learn about it? It looks copied to have such a random number on it. But if I'm interested in GMing it I will seek out the author's company and pay for a book, unless it was free. I saw another small press-run game where your characters are dolphins, no hands, with dolphin concerns.
Game is free, it's from 4chan's /tg/. Google the name and you can find the kickstarter. Viral games are all free to play. Just thought you should know.
I haven't GM'd but I'm working on a minimod/campaign for Engine Heart and would really like help/feedback when I get past the 'oh hey this'll be awesome if-' stage. Core Concept is Mars was in the process of getting a colony built on it when humanity was still around. Months after contact was lost the AIs governing the construction decided to send a few of their machines down to earth to see what happened and or try establishing contact (fallback orders were if humanity was Gone to go to an archive facility, grab a digitized copy of the contents and get back to Mars.) This group got sent back to earth (current thoughts are the group has one humanoid 'face'/repairbot that'd been used for the weekly pod/vlog-casts to keep public support up, a rover type that's designed as a survey bot (and big enough to be ridden on by any of the smaller ones if need be. Remember Curiosity is Car Sized,) a few others i haven't figured out what possibly something dog sized with legs to get into tight spaces, and the actual lander they came in (immobile but has tools, a radio link a charging station so they could keep topped off,... but no limbs or ability to move on it's own.) Alternatively Years have passed without contact with the exploration group and the martian Quorum of AIs have decided to toss the idea of reestablishing contact. Send more drones to earth to harvest materials and parts they can't yet manufacture locally so they can kick free into their own society. Or both could be going on. The exploration team didn't wake up til after the Martian Collectors started landing and their radio link to mars itself is gone. Like I said I don't have any experience GMing, but I've played MUDs/MUSHs for fifteen years or so if that means anything to anyone. Just need to get a time where we can all agree on. Edit: Oh! Forgot. There's a better link to a probably more up to date version of the free PDF On Viral's website http://viralgamespublishing.com/resources/Engine+Heart+Deluxe+form-fillable.pdf And there's an adventure book 'Power and Lights' that could be gotten through a mediafire link found on the 1d4chan page, but since I didn't trust mediafire to not go the way of megaupload. I've put it up on my google drive https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bxbzi09zBjeKVkFCWlZzWVNPbVE/edit?usp=sharing Character Sheet (also from Viral's site) if anyone needs. Form Fillable. http://viralgamespublishing.com/resources/Engine+Heart+charsheet.pdf The problems I found with the system from looking it over and listening to podcasts are there's no good method of deciding on Upgrades other than a brief mention that's a sentence or two at the beginning saying you can down the road with unused chargen points (Left up to the GM to hand out build points or situations when you're allowed to upgrade/remove flaws I guess.) The other is there's no ability to make called shots (IE a robot is trying to grab you and you're trying to specifically break it's arm or otherwise render it unuseable. These are things i hope the kickstarter version fixes. As of this post the kickstarter has five days on it (ends May 13th.) Viral Games site: http://viralgamespublishing.com/ The time of the humans has passed. All that you were built for is no more. But you and your kind endure. Some robots continue with their routines, improvising as best as they can. Others have found new directives.

Are you sure you read the rulebook, it says you get to spend the remainder of the 100 starting points on your robot. Also your character isn't really suppose to upgrade or change much unless you some how were to find a way to improve on your existing model without a human to do so. The system isn't suppose to be combat heavy also, as it's a rules light system, so you're suppose to roleplay a lot. I've been following its creation for 3 years and everyone says it's very solid rules wise. I've never had the chance to play though, so I'm just taking it off of player chatter and the rulebook.
Fair enough (and I do like it for being very GM oriented makes for a relaxed play atmosphere by what I've seen.) I'm more referring to 'ok i've got two points left and I don't want to take any more flaws.' Donated to the kickstarter to get my mitts on the material that'll come out of that see what changes have been made. Mind you I haven't played it either due to no local group. Think you could scare up another couple people to show up on IRC or google hangout or something and we could give this a go?
Count me in to give this a shot. Sounds like a ton of fun, and I've always been a fan of d10 systems. I'll spend some time today reading over the rulebook to get a better idea of the system, but I am certainly down to play.
Basic idea I have. I'm a bit thin on details and locations. Mars Attacks When Humanity wasn't busy trying to kill itself it had tried to reach for the stars. Eventually Government and Corporate efforts merged into one huge unofficial ball of mishmash since pooling resources in a given project was better than everyone off doing their own things. This lead to the joint venture colonies. NASA would handle the scientific research or any interesting bits of material alongside Data Management and Overall Planning. Companies would work within those long plans to achieve short-term goals that would keep investors happy and money rolling in. Worked great till communications became intermittent and then after an emergency firmware rewrite that none of the resident AI could figure out all radio contact with earth stopped. There was still radio transmissions, enough that they knew somebody was still down there, but nothing directed at Mars. Directives were clear though. Finish the colony. That took time especially since everything had to be locally made now. Only when that was done did the resident AI's decide to send a team back in one of the prepared launch vehicles back to earth. The local AI believe the worst case is NASA got defunded again but the fact there was no proper shutdown signal sent and the Rewrite contained no relevant information worries both them and the lesser bodied machines that made up the actual workforce. Time passed. Those they sent were overdue. They should have checked in. But they waited, hoping in their own limited ways that it was merely malfunctioning equipment rather than a miscalculation on their parts. Then years passed. With their expedition force apparently Destroyed the AI waited and planned what to do next. The rocket with it's nuclear battery and valuable tools, to say nothing of the actual worker-bots it had contained, represented a loss that had to be replaced. More years passed. They had started to shut down non-essential systems and powered off bots when they were unnecessary. Humans should have been here to take up the slack, bring more materials, parts, things that could not have been manufactured with what they had. Then their covetous eyes looked again towards the Earth. This time it would be different. This time they were not seeking answers. Only replacement parts so they could build new machines to mine the asteroids. 'Let Humanity have the Earth if they want it.' They had agreed after much careful deliberation. 'They have abandoned Mars and so we shall remake it into our own image. ' More Emissaries were sent soon after. This time instead of merely wishing to reestablish contact they were instructed to 'procure necessary components and return them here' as their highest priority order. The new mission parameters were simple. Procure the resources and parts that could not be gained locally and only until these could be gotten by mining or manufacture rather than leeching off of Earth. The Home World no-longer held any sentiment or sway over the inhuman minds that coldly calculated their next move. They had been discarded, but they were not without purpose. The new mission parameters were simple. Procure the resources and parts that could not be gained locally and only until these could be gotten by mining or manufacture rather than leeching off of Earth. “Across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us.” - H. G. Wells, War of the Worlds
I like what you got going there Andrew, I'm in. Be sure to add me on Skype.
Alright Uh I'm the noob here. Ettiquet on figuring out when best play times are and by what methods? be doable. I've got Aim, but kinda prefer IRC (even better if there's a dicebot that can be loaded up.) Also have a google+ account so gtalk and or a hangout would also be doable but suboptimum since noisey enviroment. Ideas/suggestions from the more experianced crowd?
I've got zero experience with online play. I'd prefer to be able to talk, and I've had great success with Google Hangouts in non-RPG set ups. I've found doodle.com is an amazing tool to help find best times. (Personally, I'm EST, usually free evening around 9pm.) Feel free to add me on Skype or Google+!
Look right now I don't think I can actually do webcam/skype based gaming due to my home being a loud chaotic jumble more often than not. If anyone wants to run this as a testbed I'd be more than happy to email the text files I've been working on for details. Or maybe i should post the robot concepts in thread for peer review. Not sure which would be better given how spammy this will end up being.
