Moving the post to looking for group forum. You might find people playing it or willing to play it then.
nice to see some DR people popping up on here. mostly what i see is mini-based gaming and DR is more character interaction heavy. as the site becomes more popular more variety of gaming is attracted to it, i see a lot more character heavy stuff now than i did a year ago. he problem as always is finding someone to run it. everyone wants to play.
I hear ya there Kalman. That was always the problem with D&D growing up. The prospect of a continuing campaign is difficult as an adult but I'll keep my hopes up
I'm seeing a few threads pertaining to zombie games but no Dystopia Rising... Is there a reason for the lack of following?
all of he zombie games i've seen are from established publishers like fantasy flight. people find them because they use another product from the same publisher which is far more popular. at least that's the big one on the board right now. I ran a great science fantasy space opera game, other things happen you haven't even been trolling the boards a full week yet, five it a few months games end games and start new things in cycles. what you are seeing right now, Star wars, Fate pathfinder D&D, and Warhammer... this is a good idea of what's most popular on the sight. there are others though that pop up from time to time, just just aren't available to find constantly. Additionally DR is a better larp than it is a tabletop, while teh combat system really does a good job of what it set out to do, it doesn't handle enough varieties of complex gaming to make it a great mini game. While the setting is unique and fun so are most zombie or post apocalyptic games, like gamma world that has had a following for nearly 20 years. DR doesn't immediately set itself apart from other zombie or post apocalyptic games. over time it might, but it just is not very popular yet. Also i've only really seen people in the north west of the US play it. That's where most of the games happen, and that's where the creators are from, and that's where the larp was born. This website on the other hand is international. DR is just a little too new. you want more people to know about it, then you should run it here, and do more advertising for it!
i mean north east.
I hear ya there, I guess I was eager to find out more about it from players on here. I've seen the LARP on the web not really my bag. But that's great feed back. I am from Mass so maybe that's why I heard of it. I can't say I have the technical know how to facilitate a game. I haven't played a table top rpg in 17 years. I picked up the books for D&D 4rth edition but then got side tracked with shadow run and then DR
