Note: I live in Europe so the time-zone is likely going to be European friendly, however I am yet to decide the time and date Shadows of Esteren is a french table-top RPG that has been, relatively recently, translated into English. Despite its country of origin the game seems great, the world they designed is fantastic and the system that they built to go along with it seems ok, although I admit I haven't play-tested it yet. The "known" game world consists of the isolated peninsula of Tir-Kazel which hosts a roughly cletic inspired people and their culture as well as a few permanent visitors from the outside world, or rather what remains of their descendents. As the creators put it, this game resides somewhere between Ravenloft, Call of Cthulhu and Song of Ice and Fire. It leaves possibilities for horror, mystery, political intrigue, dark-ages fantasy and even a bit of steam-punk, surprisingly enough. I am as of yet unsure of what the "feel" of this campaign is going to be. Is it going to be more mystery ? more typical fantasy ? more horror ? more political intrigue ? Its partially up to you, partially up to me and once I characters are created and the game starts we shall see. If you want more information about the setting, well, you've got Google, use it. I've given little information and I am aware of that, rather than writing a multiple pages long post I will hand to any interested party the task of asking me questions. Everyone wants to know different things about a game, everyone looks for something different in a game, so go ahead and PM me with any questions you might have, alternatively you can PM me your skype ID (or google+ name or whatever) and we can have a shorter or longer chat. Ok, so lets say you did the above and all your questions were answered, or you think the information above is enough and are willing to take the plunge without more knowledge about myself or the game. Well, I would also like to know if your style of play, personality and taste in gaming can blend well enough with mine to make for a good game. Rather than asking people to ramble aimlessly I would like to ask you a few questions... to give you a few generic subjects to rant about: 1. What is the system and/or setting that you enjoyed the most(not played) and why is that ? 2. What were the best/worst games that you ever played in (as a PC, not as a GM) ? 3. Which were the best/worst GM's that you ever played with (again, as a PC not as a co-GM or spectator) ? 4. Which were the best/worst players that you ever played with ? 5. Do you generally care about rules and to what extent ? Do you read them fully before playing, do you read only the ones concerning you, do you read them at all ? Do you dislike/like/tolerate GM's/players breaking or forgetting rules and to what extent ? 6. Do you concern yourself with the accuracy of the book presented setting ? 7. What is the best/worst character you ever played and what is the best/worst character you ever created ? By best/worst you can understand whatever you wish, interesting/uninteresting, new/stale, exciting/boring... whatever combination of terms you want to attribute to the words best and worst. Again, remember that the time are going to be European friendly. So, for example, if can only play on evening EST time this might not be the game for you, simply because 6PM-11PM EST are pretty much impossible hours for me. Further scheduling issues will be handled once I know if there is enough interest in the game and I know what each persons times are.
