Etiquette for bringing your homebrew race into a campaign that's not yours

I've only joined the one campaign so far through Roll20 and it was fun and I have taken glances at several games through the forums and LFG but there was one thing I was a little unsure about, and as far as it goes, how the community feels about it. How do the GM's of roll 20 feel about someone wanting to bring a homebrew race into the game. Also curious what players think as well because at the end of the day, you are the comrades that I share the adventure with. There is a reason why I am asking. I was fond of the Lupin race in 2nd edition and I found what I thought was a reasonable homebrew conversion. I'm just not sure if it is the right place to just ask a GM of a campaign in LFG. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Questions about character types allowed, like that, it's on a case-by-case basis. Every GM has different allowances. The first thing to do is read the campaign's introductions (the LFG text). Often this will indicate what the GM allows or what kinds of character creation is offered/expected there. If the text doesn't tell you, then ask the GM if it would be ok. It varies from "no problem" to "not allowed" and everything in between.

This thread is off-topic for our site. When you signed up for Roll20 you agreed to abide by our Code of Conduct and this post violates the Intended Use section of the code. Since this is a question about roleplaying game mechanics, you’d be better served posting it on a general RPG site, like reddit/r/rpg , pm the specific GM about the subject, or join a general group that supports your line of questions such as the GM Academy or other groups that support your system. I will be moving this to the off-topic forum which closes this thread.
