JP Remillard said: I was looking to get the mentor profile to support this site but also the full on options. I guess I have my reasons to get it now! Thanks! Dynamic lighting is your friend! it such a lovely tool in roll20. i would like to point you to some very interesting ideas i discovered lurking in these forums i adopted for my games: <><><> Embedded Handouts: in the handout section of the journal tab, if you enclose the name of a different handout in square brackets [ ] you can create a clickable link to that second handout. you are then able to Archive or hide the second handout to clear away the clutter. i personally added every race, class, spell, ability, and feature of 5e D&D to my campaigns handouts from the players handbook and online PDF supplements into a single "Compendium" for quick access. (EX- adding the line [Cure Wounds] to my compendium would create a link to the handout "Cure Wounds" holding the spell description.) <><><> Monster Character Sheet: by loading the monster stats into a character sheet i was able to build a token for them and macros that i set as token actions. this lets me pull monster tokens directly from the sheet and just plop them on the map, pre-configured. random encounters take a handful of minutes to build and execute. just like i would do with a player's token. <><><> Gender Identifier Attributes: i added the following gender attributes to both players and monster sheets - @{token_pre} = prefix for players like "lord lady duke sir madam" or a single space for none, generic NPC's and generic monsters get "the, a ,an" for generic genders @{gen1} = his, her, it's @{gen2} = him, her, it @{gen3} = he, she, it EX - /em nocks an arrow into @{Selected|gen2} <her> @{Selected|rangedweapon1} <longbow> and takes careful aim at @{target|token_pre} <the> @{target|token_name} <goblin>. **using /desc instead of /em will allow you the DM to appear to be in character, without having to constantly change characters, a single macro can be made to fit anyone using that type of ability. be sure to add both @{selected|token_pre} <the character using the macro's prefix> and @{selected|token_name} <the character's name as shown on token> before "nocks" as above. this lets my players and myself build complicated emotes to brighten up our Rollplay when we Roleplay. <><><> look around and ask if your stumped on something, this DM/GM community is great about answering questions. Welcome to Roll20.
