A long way off, for-warned is four-eyed or something like that...

Kelyn has been trying to think of a way to clear Vorlianth's Mom, an adult spell using Green Dragon, out of the neighborhood of where she will establish her holy grove. So she went to see Ana & Vlad and They will summon Llewellyn Cypher, Lan Dromar, Dax Forzare' and Terry Lil'Light to dispatch the beast. This will probably be the second Sunday in February. If any of you are interested in visiting the high level campaign let me know.
It could be interesting but what would we do? Hold their beers while they slay the dragon?
Its never a wise idea to let Ragnar hold your beer.
Lol ya, Ravelleo will do it for 6 lvl's, Full plate+1 and 2 Rapier+3....... other than that, crazy talk happening around here....
Does your high level group happen to have a +4 two handed battle axe they're willing to part with?
No, but they have free beer and pretzels.
lol, good luck, i dont feel like rerolling just yet.
Pfft, coward. There is no fun without the fear of death.

AAHAHAHAHAHH K kid ALL IN GG. count me in. And to clarify there is no Fear, it is guarenteed death with this one......But I guess you would need a INT above 8 to figure that out huh ragnar...
Most of the present party was not around for the killing of the baby dragon. It was Farion, who has left to persue other opportunities, and other member but I can't remember who off the top of my head (maybe Arcanon) and of course me and Brinely. I know we are of not sufficient power to take on an adult dragon. By the Tree, we barely were able to kill the baby. This is why I asked Ana and Vlad to contact their more powerful friends before the Mother goes on a rampage. You are correct to be scared. I don't blame you. And if you don't feel up to the task I don't hold it against you. I will need to see this to the end, one way or another.
We won't be directly engaging the mother dragon most likely, we're there to handle the minions that come with her. The mother dragon will be dealt with by the much higher leveled people in the other campaign. That being said, it is very possible that they could fail to kill the dragon and we'll promptly be killed shortly after they are, but that being said if there wasn't that risk where would be the fun in going on this adventure?
I like Kylen's idea of Making a Army of Mercenaries To combat this Evil...
Pfft, you just want someone else to hide behind. Be a man! Well as much as an Elf can be a man...
Well I figure the more people we can get involved hopefully the great chance of success.
lol Ragnar and man stuff.... trying to act like a man doesn't make you one, Dwarf.
More people would just mean he'd scale the fight to be even more difficult, increasing the odds that one of us randomly gets killed off.
Well we already know there are at least 2 adult dragons to contend with based on the rumors.

The scene is set, all I have to do is add the treasure to the map. It is currently half rolled and residing on a post it note.I only scale when setting initial opponents. I figure out the approximate XP of the party I expect, Half of that goes to the primary opponent or group, the other half goes to minions, I then add 5% per 17+ ability scores. Then as the party begins I subtract opponents that they are unable to handle with their treasure . I float it to the Gm layer, and if the group starts to do well I can drop it back. Generally speaking this is from a Len Lakofka article in a 1982 Dragon Magazine called "Mission Control. Contrary to popular belief, most DMs try to avoid a T.P.K., as it causes enormous amounts of paperwork, and upsets the players.
I don't want Kelyn or Brinley to die. For that matter I don't want anyone to die, except maybe the dragons. I would be totally fine if we drove them off and they never returned.
Of course a pair of deadly dragons is one thing you don't want relocated to your neighborhood, sort of the fantasy version of a high rise housing project with ground floor methadone clinic and meeting place for a pedophile rights group. Sending them to visit with the neighbors could be somewhere between Chaotic Evil and Neutral Stupid...
Yeah I understand not wanting to T.P.K a group, but there should always be the risk and feat of one when playing, especially in the earlier editions. What draws me to 2e is how unforgiving the game can be to people regardless of their level, while I certainly dislike losing characters it is part of the game and part of the enjoyment that comes from the game. If you're going into combat with the mind-set that the DM isn't going to kill you so it'll work out eventually or the DM will rig it to work out, then where is the fun in that? That being said, I completely understand when you have a field set for X number of players and when only a few of them show up you have to adjust the enemy count or add mercenaries to compensate, that makes complete sense. In this situation however, we're just the tag-alongs, I don't believe that we should be trying to hire anyone to come with us. If the other group feels mercenaries are necessary, it should be on them to decide to get them or not as they'll primarily be the ones dealing with these dragons. Our group is just there for morale support really.
I hadn't thought about it that way. You've made some good points.
I see it as they wanted backup so they asked us to come... therefore we are the mercenaries.... which means we need foughter as well to cover us.
You misunderstand, we weren't asked to come. Keyln's character knows the way there which is why she needs to go. The rest of us that are going are doing so out of our own curiosity.
Posted in Amber Campaign Forum 10JAN15: We will be playing in the Bigger Sandbox , Make It a Double Mike campaign in February . I will port your characters into the other game two weeks before the game. I will send you all multiple copies of the join link. We will use our usual Skype connection for the voice. Several of the other game's characters will also be joining us they are much weaker than you are and we hope you will not try to break them too much.
agreed
When is this to happen?
Sunday 8FEB15 at 17:00 EST(GMT-5) on the "Mike" site.
