LF1M Pathfinder Wednesday 6PM CST

We are looking for a fifth player for our four person group. This campaign is about PCs who are business owners as well as adventurers. Each character in the campaign has a unique profession that provides their motivation for bettering the city that they are in. We are making use of the downtime rules to develop businesses. Every time the PCs complete the story of a city they have an option between several new cities they can choose to collectively spread their business too by traveling there, planting their business, and getting to the bottom of the cities problems. Story is thematically focused on whatever city the PC choose to go to. Examples of future themes the group will encounter are a gotham inspired mobster town, a floating city of mages, a war torn region in rebellion, a woodland city built among the trees, and a town governed by a coven of druids. I'm not interested in min/maxing or PCs that build exceptionally strong characters just for the sake of being strong. If you prefer a campaign where the goal is to build the most mechanically powerful characters to defeat the most mechanically powerful enemies then this is not the game for you. If you like to come up with a thematic character then find the best class to fit it then this may be a good fit for you. I'm refocusing my campaign's story to get back to the central theme after a long side track so it is a great time for new players. You'll be expected to have a character by next Wednesday. The very first session will get you on track with the story, but I can't give away much more because the PCs don't know much more than you about where things are going. Players are level 5. 20 point buy. New character can use any non third party material hosted on the PFSRD. No summoners. No gunslingers. No psionic. Starting gold 8,000. Also, the PCs requested the new player not be in already PC class and would be interested in a heavy hitting front line character. Current Composition: Illusionist Wizard Street Magician Monk Ale Master War Priest Butcher Paladin Calligrapher IF YOU'RE INTERESTED PLEASE POST A DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR IN A GAME/GM/OTHER PCs, YOUR EXPERIENCE LEVEL, AND A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER'S STORY AND PROFESSION.

In a game, I would like to be able to do many categories of activites with the group. Be it Acting, Storytelling, Fighting, Problem Solving, and Exploring. I want to feel Immersed into the game with art, music, and a passion for adventure. As a front line heavy hitting PC, I would be taking up an Elven Fighter with Blacksmith and Bowyer professions who would also use wind instruments to bring entertainment to the towns we travel through as we explore the world and it's many inhabitants. Fireth Tahlemar has experience little of what the world has to offer, but has learned much of his travels. Specialized with a sword and ocarina, Fireth had learned to use music as an arcanic study later in his venturing experience after learning from an enthusiastic Gnome from his last tavern visit. It wasn't long after his coming city visit until he had found rumors of a travelling group of venturing traders who seek another to join their collective, which had sparked some interest to search for this group.

Hello FortyFaced. I'll try and cover all the bases for you here. First a bit about myself, my name is Shane, I'm 29 and I live on the west coast, about 30min north of San Francisco. I've been playing Pathfinder for 4+ years now, D&D 3.5 before that for several years as well. I started Play-by-Post gaming a year ago or so and joined Roll20 shortly after that. Back in the day I spent some time on OpenRPG, playing and DMing a few games there. Before table-topping I got involved in Forum Roleplaying, which has helped me get down RP from a story standpoint, making interesting and fun characters. At least I'd like to think so ^^. Anywho, now I'm available from 4pm-12am PST, since I get to work at roughly 4, it takes me a few minutes to set up. So there is a chance that on some days, I would not be online until 4:05-4:15 at the latest. (Though often I imagine I'll be on prior to the hour.) Lets see... What I'm looking for from a Game, DM and Other Characters. Character wise, I'd like mature dedicated players, that are at least somewhat articulate with their roleplaying/writing, get into their characters and are genuinely nice folk. DM wise, I'd like a DM who knows the players are the starts of the game, divides attention equally and enjoys himself as well. Game wise, I'm up for most anything, balance of RP and Combat, story development and interesting ideas like the whole focus on professions. Sounds pretty good to me. Character Concepts: I could whip up just about any character concept to suit the party, but my first thought is... Ryart Rinson, a Barbarian/Fighter combo, with great sword as his focused weapon. His clan was wiped out in his past while he was away, killed by a Lich is his current backstory, but obviously I'm open to change to suit the game. Since he has no clan left, he has since then become more civilized. Moving to a larger city, finding work and striving to survive. He's a monster of a man, standing nearly seven feet tall (6'10") big thick red beard and hair, built with broad shoulders like an oversized dwarf. He is a skilled fighter and would be involved in teaching others to fight/defend themselves. Profession Weapon/Combat Trainer? I'm not certain what category it would be in. Perhaps he could have his own dojo or training ground, or it could just be a service he offers and trains outside of the city in specific situations. If there needs to be a more physical crafting sense, something to show for his labors besides training others, I could see him with a forge crafting weapons. I suppose that's all, I could get a detailed background/description/personality and all that together if you needed it.
I will play.
That's a cool character concept.
Still looking?
Yes. We are still looking for interested parties.
Cool
Hey there FortyFaced! I've been looking for a PF game on Roll20 for a while and this one seems to fit the bill for what I'm looking for quite nicely. Very interesting concept (I especially like the idea of a business/professional outlook as well as combat). Here is a bit about myself first: My name is Matthew, I'm 23 years old and living in NE Florida. I've been playing pathfinder as a primary TTRPG for approximately 4 years (since I started college) and am still enamored with it as an excellent toolbox system (meaning I can build what I want to do what I want, no actual restrictions to speak of). I am looking for a GM who is interested in telling a story. I know, I know, railroading is terrible and blahblahblah, but I enjoy hearing a story and acting my part in it. I don't mind playing around in an open world, but I'm much more interested in being the hero of a tale (whether that tale be grand and lore-worthy or just a tale told around town...I'm a hero dangit! :P). I also enjoy GMs who are willing to let players do more than just combat with a character. As for other players, I'm interested in players that spend time actually building on their character concept rather than falling into barbarian/soldier as soon as combat breaks out. Don't get me wrong, I love combat and enjoy the tactical system, but roleplaying holds a huge part in my PF experience. My character concept is one of three that I've been looking over for a while now: Sho Dakka - Human Barbarian Blacksmith Sho was once a warrior in a nomad tribe, but when his tribe fell apart after the death of their chieftain and his family he left to survive on his own. He has a gift for metal and he tends to fall more in the chaotic neutral line. He cares more for survival than for glory, so he lives in the outskirts of the city and runs a forge...enough to live on, not much more. However, recent events have caused a major demand for his services...and he is finding that he actually really enjoys having more money than just enough to live on...so he has hired on several more workers for his forge and is looking into expanding the forge into something more...like a shop. Korryn Hyland - Human Ninja (or rogue...not sure yet) Weaponsmith Korryn has always been around, but nobody knows too much about him. In reality he was once an assassin for a noble family, but he cut ties when he was ordered to kill the first scion of the very house he was sworn to. He is chaotic good, has ties to the local nobility (both good and bad ties...) and has always crafted his own weapons...very good weapons. Thus, when he left the service of his lord, he found that the only real skill he had for society was his weaponcrafting. His influence in the city markets is growing at an astonishing rate (though not so astonishing to those who see his work first-hand). Vadd Nyrric - Human Alchemist Apothecary/Alchemist (I know, frontline fighter and all...but alchs actually do VERY well on the front line) Vadd grew up in (insert city name here) and has inherited both a business and a love of alchemy from his parents. He has worked the small (but growing) business of Nyrric Apothecarium for 10 years on his own ever since his parents were killed in an experiment gone horribly wrong. He has learned much from their notes and can make astonishing things using the power of science...but he also knows much about the common herbalism that still is in use around the world, so he makes most of his business run on that alone. However, behind the scenes he is always experimenting, always trying new things. Some might consider them unethical, but SCIENCE!!! (And profit too...who knew that people would actually want to BUY things that explode!). I am willing to use any of these three concepts and also am willing to provide more details on request. I have these characters already (mostly) statted out and will provide on request. These are intentionally flexible characters, so changes can be made as necessary. Let me know if you need more information!
Cool.
Rowan Atkins ' outwardly appearance is of a distinguished and diminutive semblance of a young man. Born to a caravan of rural merchants, Rowan Atkins grew up as a very social creature. Polite and courteous in demeanor. Kind and generous by nature. Communicating with innumerable strangers from different walks of life, Rowan Atkins discovered that he yearns to personally experience and witness places and events as told by strangers. Around the age of ten, Rowan Atkins arrived in the capital city. Rowan's wanderlust only grew here as he encountered the many exotic races. For six more years working independently from his parents around capital city, Peter developed his his social skills, his ability to persuade others, and tell convincing lies. During his business associations, Peter compiled a list of favors that he promised to do for various reasons requiring him to travel beyond his home borders. Rowan runs a drinking establishment, The Black Adder that caters to all kinds of people as long as they have coin or service of value. Rowan also operates an organized fight club in The Black Adder and often is escorted by his prize fighter, Mr. Bean . Rowan Atkins is also a devoted follower of Desne , goddess of luck and travel. He is more than willing to help any who also believe in Desne or her other aspects.
It's Mr. Bean!
