I have been thinking about this since the last session and it really doesn't sit well with me that we can only cast 4th and 5th level spells once. In effect you have taken away three character levels from the spell casters. You want to take away my equipment that is fine, but now all of the spell casters are handcuffed with fewer resources while the melee characters have nothing mitigating their damage output. A CR-9 Creature is going to put out an average of 40-50 damage per round with +6-7 to hit and average save DC of 15, That is 2 rounds to knock a Character unconscious. With only 2 healing classes who are now handicapped, in a party of 8-9 players, it isn't going to take long for attrition, to catch up with us and have a character meet their end.
Not sure I understand....

Of course you don't you have a 12th level Rogue who can do an extra 6d6 sneak attack damage every turn, where as our 9th level Bard, Cleric, Sorcerer, and Wizard can only Cast their 4th, and 5th level spells once... the entire time we are in the outer planes.

What it breaks down to for me as the only cleric in the group is, are you unconscious? No, then get back into the fight. I'll heal you when you fall over, Because I don't know when I'm going to get to rest and I'm not wasting a spell on your wounds because eventually the Pit fiend is going to show up and you are gonna need those heals then...
To be fair, I think I attacked once the whole fight. This is a Homebrew it can be changed.

Aye that's what I'm saying I don't feel it's fair to the spell casters. I have 3 magic items total and they have been nullified that's fine I'm fine with out them. My AC drops to 20 from 23, I understand that. My +1 mace doesn't function, completely understandable, I can't hit with it any way and it does max 10 damage if I crit. But on top of I can no longer cast the High Level spells that I have earned by leveling up while playing the game, at a time when I will probably need to use them the most. And Now For the MetaGaming. The creatures that we will potentially be fighting are all resistant to magic anyways so now my one damage cantrip, is basically nullified since the creatures will have advantage on the save against it. So all spellcasters who use a spell that has a saving throw are using that spell slot with reduced chances of it even being effective. Let alone if it is a spell slot that they only get to use once. I just think that this all needs to be rethought before we even start into this place. We are here to have fun, and taking away 4 spell slots from the casters is not fun. I'm game for challenge, but this is unfair.

Not all spellcasters are affected. Arcane casters are not, only those who depend upon a deity to grant their spells. I'm not saying I disagree with you. Clerics are very hamstrung, and magic items become pointless. Monks and rogues would be doing just fine. There's a fine line between challenging and frustrating.

Then I seriously heard something wrong the last time we played. I was under the impression that this was all spell casters.

In 1st edition, you lost +s to magic items and clerics lost all spell access above 2nd level when on other planes (save for that their deity lived on). Of course this was in an era of up to +5 weapons/armor. I've never been a fan of the challenge being provided through messing with game mechanics. Reminds me of playing Civ 5 on Immortal level: the enemy is not more intelligent, the characters are just (comparatively speaking) nerfed. Makes leveling-up and adventure utterly POINTLESS. I don't think that's what we're going to see here, just saying I don't like that kind of play. Anyway, if we are playing with all casters losing access to spells above 2nd/3rd level, I'm either changing my class, or I'm sitting out these sessions. I'm not going to play a gimped leather wearer with one attack per round and no other way to contribute to the party in an active manner. (I mean in a long-term campaign, not for a single adventure)
