This came up during our last game, and I wanted to clarify the rules for taking an action and moving in the same round. I consulted the rules and was startled to find I had made a few mistakes. Going forward we will be using these rules. The following actions take half a round to perform, providing the ability to move at half rate: Attacking in melee Waking another player Most non-standard actions i.e. a complex action which the player describes as taking Picking up an item (can't attack in same round, but can move. Special cases you might be able to do both) Pulling an item from a belt The following actions take a full round to perform, disallowing movement: Pulling an item from a backpack Casting a magic or clerical spell Attacking at range (only elves may move the same round as a ranged attack)
