Damnit, can't Edit Post TITLE... GMT-5 schedual is negotiable. okay i see tons of games on this board, 3.5 pathfinder, 4E, 5E, shadowrun 5e, COC, Dark Heresy (and a bunch of other WH40k, but not the only one i really like; Rogue Trader). and a ton of Fate and Star wars d20, without numbers, and a few others. I"m seeing an influx of BRP, and i see some ORE occasionally, and some 1st and 2nd ed D&D, but what i really want is... something else. really anything else, something unusual. something with a good system, but something taylor made to a specific setting, but with enough rules and splat-books already out there for really interesting character options. 4th ed Shadowrun, maybe. or ars magicka. What i'm looking for is something different. something interesting. something unusual. and something with a rules set that sits more on the side of simulationist, as opposed to narrative. i'm not looking for artistic excursuses, i still want high adventure, mysticism. no preference as to sci fi or fantasy. i know this might be a unicorn, but if i don't look, i'll never find it.
Im looking for people for this weekend if you're up for a game called Shadows of Esteren. <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1503018/shadows-of-esteren-looking-for-players-saturday-jan-17th-at-1pm-est-new-players-welcome#post-1503018" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1503018/shadows-of-esteren-looking-for-players-saturday-jan-17th-at-1pm-est-new-players-welcome#post-1503018</a>

Sounds like you should give GURPS a try!
The problem with gurps is that 90% of the time, when i think of a great setting, i can also think of a system that would handle it better than GURPS. GURPS would be great as the only system in the world, if gurps was approachable for somone who didn't know any systems. but yes gurps would work, if the right setting came along. Michael, from your post, the game sounds very interesting, but it also sounds very system light, or am i mistaken?
SoE is its own system and kind of a horror fantasy thing, not everyone's thing but if you liek a bit of weird in the mix then it's worth a try :)

I missed that you wanted a setting specific system. GURPS isn't for everyone or everything, but it can offer an astounding amount of resolution and hackability for almost any game topic imaginable if desired.
Get into the Palladium systems like RIFTS.
okay. i am familiar with all of these games. that's my fault, my OP was not specific enough. i know this is a strange concept, but a "suggestion" of what to play is not helpful. i'm looking for a real game, not a suggestion of one. i'm looking to play in something. i'm no t going to start up a game and run it, and i can't drumb up interest for a game nobody knows about. please don't suggest i do something other than the goal of this post, because i'm trying those thigns too, i promise you.
I might be interested in doing something with Rogue Trader.
Yeah its pretty system light but not as light as like...FATE. Its similar to call of cthulhu in terms of complexity
than, Kyle, i might be interested in playing in your rogue trader game!
