@ Spencer S: She happened to borrow the Ring of Khajiiti from whoever it was that did the Meridia shrine quest. He happened to own a house in Bruma, and, not being a particularly sneaky person, had it in a display case. She was doing her usual B&E to prank him, then saw the Meridia ring and was drawn to it. She put it on to see how it looked on her finger, and realized what it was from a book she had idly read a month before, and decided to take it for a spin at the nearby fortress. Then she returned it, because she isn't a thief, just a prankster. As to the Skaal blood: she had multiple Skaal ancestors far back in several of her bloodlines, on both her mother's and father's side. This heritage was weak enough in her parents that they exhibited no signs of it themselves, but strong enough that, when combined, Linny manifested a couple of traits from it; her high tolerance for cold, and her color-shifting eyes. Her Bosmer blood is dominant, of course, and she only has a fraction of the resistance a true Skaal or Nord would have (say 15% instead of 50%?), so it isn't as though she could run naked through a blizzard for hours or do a two mile polar bear swim with no ill effects. She is, however, able to ignore the effects of cold for a good deal longer than most none Nord people, and is comfortable in outfits like what she is wearing in the screenshots, even in places like Winterhold, while indoors, and with just a fur poncho outdoors.
