Friday 1/9/2015 Session Report and XP/GOLD

The Sunken Temple of the Icon I need two things from you guys. Someone needs to write up a description of what occurred during the session. It can be detailed or just a summary. Post below to let us know you are working on it so the work isn't duplicated. I also need someone to tell me how many players participated on Friday. My record keeper is new and didn't make note of it. **************************************************************************************************** Loot and Monster List: 6x HD7 Griffons (xp already given in-game) 1x HD19 Iconian Temple Guardian (20,000 xp) 1x HD12 Giant Serpent/Primitive Dragon (2,000xp) 13x HD2-1 Ixitxachitl 4x HD2 Vampire Ixitxachitl 5x HD5 Ixitxachitl Philosophers of various levels 1x +1 Platemail A gleaming set of burnished brass armor that remained unscathed by the fireball that slew its wearer. It appears to have shrunk to the size of the one who touched it. 1x +3 Shield 1x Staff of Withering 1d6 damage, no bonuses, but ages those it hits by 10 years A creature struck four times can expect the following: A human or lifespan equivalent will be doddering An animal will be dead of old age No effect on the undead Very little effect on creatures with very long lifespans (Dwarves/Elves/other monsters) 1x Two-handed artifact sword named "Chrysaor" The value of this sword is "incalculable" so the xp will be rewarded as 3,000 for this item Lawful Alignment, but non-intelligent Fully powered version: +3 to hit and damage Godslaying 1x per day can Cure Serious wounds on target Deflects 90% of magic targeted at wielder 1x per day ability to teleport the wielder using "Teleport Spell" rules. Only the wielder, no companions Purpose is to slay Chaotic Clerics/Gods: Causes paralyzation on Chaotic Clerics when they are hit, for 1d6 turns (save allowed) Its other purpose was to act as key to the greatest treasure within the temple: the last evidence left by the Iconians and their "sky" ship. Its magical powers were drained to unseal the stone that held the Iconian scroll and activated the launch Mundane Version (its current state) +2 to hit and damage 1x per day ability to teleport the wielder using "Teleport Spell" rules. Only the wielder, no companions Purpose is to slay Chaotic Clerics: Causes paralyzation on Chaotic Clerics when they are hit, for 1d6 turns (save allowed) 1x Iconian scroll containing translations in other ancient languages, pictographs, and instructions on how to activate (or operate?) some sort of ship of the sky This item is of such incalculable value, I will just reward a straight 3,000xp for it It would have to be sold via auction to begin approaching the true value, although it could be quickly sold to those you think may be interested in it You could also keep it in case you find another Iconian ship 1x Staff of Wizardry w/30 charges (3000xp) +1 to hit Not rechargeable May make a "Final Strike" with the staff, breaking it and releasing all the power within. Causes a massive explosion of energy within a 30' radius of the staff, dealing 8x the number of charges remaining. Damage is distributed outwards, no save allowed. I.e. if the total was 380 damage, 18 might go to the wielder of the staff, 60 to the next closest creature, and so on until all points have been distributed or no more creatures are within the range of the staff. May expend a charge to issue forth one of the following powers as an 8th level magic-user: Cold, an icy projection (cone shaped) that eminates 60' long and 30' wide at its tip. Deals 8d6 damage. Those killed are frozen solid, those who save take half damage and are not otherwise affected, and those who fail their save but survive take full damage and are covered by ice and unable to move for a full 3 turns unless they are exceptionally strong/huge. Fireball Lightning bolt Striking Continual Light Telekenesis Paralyzation Invisibility Wall of Fire Passwall Whirlwind (as Djinni) Webs Summon random elemental (1d4 to determine how many, and another 1d4 to determine which kind. 4,000gp Total XP: 49,370xp Total Gold: 4000 gold Each player that participated in the adventure at any point receives: 308 gold pieces and 3,798xp Remember to pay your tithes, taxes, or share with a companion if you brought one into the adventure If any items are later auctioned off, the following is a list of characters that will receiving an equal share of the proceeds (total of 13): Violet (Amanda) Malifoi (Norm) Lorielle (James) Curtis (John) Emery (Blaze) Drugo (What was the players name?) Can you list what living costs, taxes and other upkeep are again? Or point to the right thread (maybe make it sticky)? I haven't been removing it for a few sessions and don't recall it being brought up in-game.

Okay, Steven, sent you the cast list from last Friday's adventure. Also, mundane version of sword is +2 now. And that is 3k xp per player right for the scroll and sword?
Amanda the Amazon said: Okay, Steven, sent you the cast list from last Friday's adventure. Also, mundane version of sword is +2 now. And that is 3k xp per player right for the scroll and sword? Nope. Its 3k split among all players. Normally enchanted items are 1000 gold per "+" in value, and spells are 250 gold per level. Unique magic items like those staves are harder to quantify in xp, but my rules state that magic items should be limited in xp value due to the additional benefit they provide to the group in gaining more xp/gold. I set them as 3000xp as well since they are unique items that are near equal in rarity, power, and blasphemous gold value.
There goes my dream of Violet gaining another level :( Poop.
Same :(

See, you shoud've stayed dead so the rest of us get 316 more XP :P
I have the +1 Plate. What does it do?
Pretty sure a +1 Plate is just like regular Plate Mail, except it gives +1 more AC. Unless it has hidden properties, in which case I think we'd have to have it checked out by the wizard or someone.
Well burnished brass is my favorite finish. It is right up there with brushed copper and antique pewter.

Ballerest cleric in Stilt Town.
Will Lucien be able to roll off for the staff of wizardry? He was there until 2am EST I had to stop but it must have been just before the party found the staff. Did someone already get it?
It hasn't been rolled for yet, because a few eligible couldn't roll.
Yeah, are there any items that still need to be rolled on?
Staff of Wizardry needs a roll. I don't remember if anyone picked up the staff of withering or not.

Oh hey, I'll be a little late today. Was finishing up an important milestone of the Planet Eris economic model.

The armor resisted it pretty damn well. Doesn't mean it helped the wearer
