Regarding Tokens for Roll20 [Showing off]

I've been trying to find tokens for my groups campaign for awhile now and just couldn't find the right fit. So instead I tried my hands at making one! Here's what I got! This was just a prototype of future tokens, hand drawn and colored.
Looks good!

Most excellent! Great expression on the face. The subtle cocking of the lip and furrowed brows tell a lot of the character!
Yes, very good. I prefer top-down tokens but where you can still see the face. It can be a tricky balance to strike and still look good. Well done!
It's actually pretty quick to make now that I'm getting the hang of it. Once I make the rest for my campaign I might open up free requests! I love doing these!

I agree with Brian, these are easily commercial quality and people would, I'm sure, like to buy and use them. If you have any queries about becoming a Marketplace creator feel free to PM me and I'll answer them as best I can.

Very good work. One thing i noticed is that they lose some of their charm when zooming out because of the fine details. You could try more contrast or add thicker outlines. Anyway, great work and i think people would deffinitly buy them from the marketplace.
As a DM who purchases a lot of content from the Market Place, I would like to make a suggestion to all the Top Down Token Creators. PC tokens that are the SAME token in several different poses, i.e. fighting (maybe with a melee and missile weapon), sitting, lying down, maybe dead *gasp*, possibly mounted, how about standing at a bar with a mug of ale... I know that Roll20 is not an attempt to be a video game, but those who use maps and tokens I think would find the same character in different poses kind of useful, especially when using the Rollable Tables to instantly change poses... Just a thought, anyone else think this would be worthwhile?
I would like to see the same character with several different tokens as well.. such as a female elven warrior who uses different weapons (one token with a longbow and one with a short sword, for example). I could already see the potential of this in my own campaign. :)
I would most likely buy them if they showed up on the market place. I like the fact that they don't have an ultra realistic feel. It helps me stay immersed when the tokens are more cartoon-ish (no offense intended) but still gritty and taken seriously. Keep up the great work and put together a token pack for the marketplace.

Ajax mentioned including a lying down pose, I would go even further and suggest a variant of the character sleeping in a bedroll or something similar. Devin Night has some good generic examples in his "Camp" set, and I use some of them in my own campaign to represent the PCs when they're sleeping. But if a set of figures included that same person sleeping, I'd definitely consider buying it. I also like the suggestions for variants of the PC figure sitting and mounted on a horse, since characters are often in those situations too. Don't actually include the horse, just show the PC figure in a pose of straddling one.
Thanks for the great suggestions guys. Will definately try to do more!

You don't need an API to switch tokens, if using a rollable table.

In fact, IIRC the API has some issues at the moment trying to change the image of a token with rollable tables...

Yeah, 2: Cannot set the image if the imgsrc doesn't point to a user's library (i.e.: no using assets from the market place). Changing the side of a graphic does not update the image that is displayed if it is a rollable table token.
This idea has nothing to do with the API, it would be done entirely with a rollable table, all my monsters now when they die become corpses and not big red X's, lol...

Hi - First time in the general forums so if I post this in the wrong place, please let me know. I have been searching for a token for a Female Human Fighter I created for a Dragonlance Campaign I'm in. She is Lawful Evil and Fights with a Greataxe. I cant seem to find a Female Character in dark armor , dark hair, with a great axe anywhere. Can anyone point me to a source that may have one? Thanks in advance.

Joseph, this is the right forum, but you should start your own thread. In answer to your question, there is a dearth of female warrior tokens. If you've looked through the Marketplace and haven't found what you want, you can upload images to your library if you find an appropriate token image elsewhere. You might be best placed to commission a token from one of the artists here or elsewhere on the web. If you find some artists on the Marketplace whose work you particularly like, you can email team@roll20.net with details of what you would like and the names of the artists you like, and they can forward the request on to each of them for you.

If you have a picture of something similar that'd help find what you're after. I'm assuming overhead/top-down view on the token, not a portrait style or whatever? https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/item/16723/f...
