A few (I hope) simple questions

1. How do I search the forums? I'd imagine the question below has been asked before, but it's a pain to look through every post in the forum and even if I did, the eye often misses stuff a decent search will catch. (Found answers to my original 2 and 3, but here are some NEW questions I found in the course of trying stuff out.) 2. Is there a way to tell Roll20 where I want it to paste an object? It seems to pick a random spot somewhere near the original; it never puts it anywhere near the cursor. 3. Could someone please explain how resizing an object works? I know you select it, hope the green square appears (I sometimes do and sometimes don't get those controls, seemingly at random...), then pull with the mouse... but what the object does seems to bear no logical relationship to what I do with the mouse. It moves around, changes orientation, sometimes even teleports to a random spot nowhere near where my cursor is, anything EXCEPT stick to its previous orientation and just stretch in the direction I move the cursor. Someone help me make sense of this! 4. When using an object from the art gallery, is there a way to make it (a) less than one entire square in size and (b) NOT snap to the grid? Snapping to the grid is a reasonable default, but there are times when I would like to turn it off.

Regarding #4 I know that if you hold alt while resizing or rotating an object it doesn't snap to grid. I don't know if there's an options menu somewhere to turn it on or off by default, though.
#1) There is a search bar at the bottom of the forum options on the right side of the page. That being said, the forum search is mediocre at best. #2) I think that pasting near the original is still the implemented behavior, though 'paste at mouse' is on the devs' improvement list. #3) After selecting a token: the green rectangle at the bottom right is for resizing. Hold shift while dragging to maintain the aspect ratio, hold alt to resize independent of the grid. (You can also turn off the grid in the page settings if you don't want it at all). The circle on the top of the token is for rotation. If this ~isn't~ the behavior your seeing, let us know, I'll make sure the devs take a look.
There are many times I want to see the grid, but not snap my map to the grid. These two items can reasonably be exclusive. Can you add it to the dev's todo list (if it's not there already) to add a control on the page settings, to turn snap to grid off? Thank you!
The way I do it, as for lining up grids on maps you already own to the roll20 grid, is right click the map and set it to "as drawing". this will avoid having the map snap to the grid.
#2) I think that pasting near the original is still the implemented behavior, though 'paste at mouse' is on the devs' improvement list. Pasting at either the mouse or at the center of the screen would be ideal.
