In the next few months I will plan to start a 2nd edition D&d campaign that will be played weekly. I plan to take my time to find the right people for the campaign. I am looking for 3-4 PCs. I am looking for long term players. I am not looking for power gamers. I am looking for people who are role-play focused and who love lore. The setting for this campaign is a setting that I have built over the course of seven years. The lore on the setting is second to none. Lore is a huge aspect in this campaign and I want people who will appreciate the established lore and the lore that we will build together. I am new to playing d&d online. I want to stream these sessions and upload them to youtube. To be honest though I have never done that and do not know how. I am looking for players who on top of everything else will help me do these things. I have put endless hours into this setting and preparing for this campaign. Above all I want people who will appreciate it and put effort into it. The start of the effort I want the players to put into it is I want the players to build rich stories and backgrounds for their characters. Before the actual campaign launches I would like to do one shots for each of the PCs introducing their characters and role-playing out a defining moment in that characters stories. I want to build something great and I am looking for like minded people. If you are interested please private message me. I would love to gauge you and see if you are what I want looking for and if your interested I would love to share with you the story of the world I have crafted.
This is cool, but what about the availability and time of said weekly game.
As I find the right pcs that is something I would discuss with them an work out with them. Idea for me would be on a Monday or a Wednesday from 7ish pm est to 1ish am est. That is not concrete. Would work out the schedule with the pcs when I have them
This sounds pretty amazing. I have not played 2e D&D, however. I've invested a few dozen hours into 3.5e, Pathfinder, and now 5e. I'm inexperienced with the mechanics, but that doesn't stop me from creating rich backstories and personalities for all my characters. The most essential part for me to enjoy D&D or any other roleplaying game for that matter, is to have an immersive and complex world that I can alter with my character's actions. I am familiar with Roll20, but by no means an expert. As for the streaming bit, I've no idea how to help you there, but I imagine you can find someone with the necessary skills here. You may contact me via Skype or by sending me a private message on here, and I'll respond ASAP. My username on Skype is LoneTophat. Hope you're willing to introduce a new player to an old version of D&D.

That sounds very parallel-universe to my 2E campaign "Adventures in a homebrew world" that I'm rebooting on here this year, as we speak. I've pretty much already got my crop of Players and they've been making PC's with me this week. Now I probably have a lot less lore than you, I've been developing my homebrew world since I made the world map 2 years ago, and I incorporate some classic module locations. I sought much the same qualities in players you're asking about -- and my finding is, there are a lot of players interested in roleplaying, lore, storylines, and collaborative character development of a saga, on here and in this good old game system. The only difficulty has been in finding the right players, for the right time slot, to make a party. Congrats on your style in your pitch. Happy adventuring. It sounds fantastic. I wish I could commit to another campaign so I could apply to play in this too. If you want to crosspost your pitch on the 2E Tavern, it's a community of 2nd Edition AD&D enthusiasts on Roll20, with around 140 members and I am the proprietor of the tavern. You could find more players through this if you like, https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/7880/roll2e-the... A 6-hour slot would be an ambitious schedule. It's hard to keep everyone in a remote-group together for this long without someone needing to drop off for various reasons. Best advice is set-up your campaign sessions so that you can accommodate 1-2 players being late or leaving early, if not missing altogether (hopefully with letting you know first) as it seems to frequently happen.
A lot of people seem to be interested in this and in an attempt to get a feel for people expressing interest I plan to run a series of one-shots to evaluate and gauge potential PCs. I would like to run the first of these one shots next monday, January 26th. When the actual campaign begins it will take place during a time that is immediately after what many seen as the end of days. I don't want to use the world post-apocalypse because when that world is used the notation is it is a very dark time and yes there will be a feel of that but it will have more of a rebuilding of society type feel. The on-going one shots would be during the apocalypse period. I dont want to go into a lot of detail but during the apocalypse period the masses flooded into one spot that was viewed as a safe haven. The haven is protected by a group of Knights called the Knights of the Dragon. The Knights have four out post in the wilderness to watch over the safe haven. The on-going one shots I'm thinking will be the tales from one of these out-posts during the apocalypse period Also with these one shots I plan to run them as 5e as 5e is probably the simplest d&d system to run. People have expressed interest in this thread. If you are interested please PM me and let me know why you should get a spot in the one shot. Looking for 4 guys for the one shot
What time zone and times?
7pm eastern till probably around 1am eastern
still looking for the right players A lot of people have expressed interest however I have only locked down two PCs for the first of four one shots to gauge potential PCs. If you are interested hit me up. Please do not just saying "Hey can I play".. Sell yourself and make your case. I am looking to make something great. I can not do that on my own, so I am looking for greatness in my players. Stand out if you want in.
I sent you a pm
still searching for the right players. Have a lot of people interest in the campaign but I am in no hurry. I want to be sure that the right people are in place for this.
C'mon folks, get your PM's to Brad and like he said, sell yourself. I'm looking forward to playing in a One-shot, not only in hopes to secure a spot in the campaign but moreso to meet other players and Brad as the GM.
Sent Brad a PM. Looking forward to a response.

Just an up date on things. The first one shot is full. I have 2 players set for the second one shot and 1 player for the next two week shots. Wk 1 -full wk 2 -2 open spots wk 3 -3 open spots wk 4 -3 open spots I am looking forward to getting this going. My approach with this was people would get their chance to shine in game. I have quickly realized though people get a chance to shine through character creation. I am ABSOLUTLEY BLOWN AWAY!, with what the people in the first one shot are creating with their stories. This first weeks one shot is setting the bar high! this isn't my story, it is our story. If you want to be apart of something truly special hit me up via pvt while a handful of spots remain. Btw don't just say hey I want in. Sell me with the greatness of your character!
Let me get this straight: it's going to be an AD&D 2nd ed campaign, but initially characters are created as 5th ed ones, then changed into AD&D ones for the campaign? And do you think you can accommodate euro night owls?
No. The 5e games are set before the AD&D 2e (50 years). Maybe if the character is a Dwarf or Elf it can be transferred easily, but a Human would be very old. I'm playing the child of the 5e character, if that character lives--I'm going to do my best.
Still have a handful of spots left. If interested hit me up via pm
update on open spots wk 1 has been full for awhile however one of the guys may not be making it so I have 1 possible spot open for this monday wk 2 two open spots wk 3 two open spots wk 4 three open spots hit me up if you are interested. trying to build something great, long lasting and meaningful here. need like minded players.
Greetings! I'm intrigued by this campaign and the level of detail involved in the 'verse, together with your emphasis on collectively building a story. A private message describing the kinds of characters that I'm interested in playing, my familiarity with tabletop systems, and other important details is forthcoming. I am known as Jheuloh on almost all mediums, including steam, skype, teamspeak, mumble, etc.
