Flame tongue damage on a 5th edition sheet

Hey all, I've just tried to add fire damage to one of my players great sword attack (eg 2d6+2d6) but when the damage button is pressed it just rolls the first 2d6. The only way I've managed to get around this is to set a new weapon up as fire set the magi bonus to -3 to negate his strength bonus and then put 2d6 (fire) in the damage box. Is this the only way I can do this using the 5th edition sheet and not creating it's own macro? Thanks

I just tested this and putting 2d6+2d6 worked perfectly fine for me. Are you the GM? Have you confirmed that you are using the D&D 5e sheet and not the legacy "Next" sheet? Alternatively you could add the following to the Damage Type field: Slashing, [[2d6]] Fire The problem with the above configuration would be that the Fire Damage would not be automatically rolled again on a critical.

ok, it does indeed roll both set of 2d6, I must not of clicked outside the box to update the entry. It doesn't differentiate between the two damage sources though, just total damage. Can this be done? I know I can look on the roll history if a creature is immune to fire but I'm trying to make things as easy as possible for my players.

No, not unless you separate them like in my second suggestion, but in the case of a crit, you will have to roll the fire damage again. Alternatively you could do add this to the Damage Type box: Slashing, [[2d6]] Fire, Critical: [[2d6]] Additional Fire The challenge will be how readable the output is... Roll Templates will make this significantly better depending on how Actoba implements them in the sheet, as do things like Powercards if you were to subscribe as a Mentor and add the API scripts.
