We crawled underground and passed the Gargoyle and proceeded east down the hallway. We were ambushed by Carrion Crawlers, who stunned Zio. Lorielle cast sleep and put both the Carrion Crawlers to sleep and the party made quick work of them. As the party continued down the hallway, we encountered large double doors with a small open slot at the bottom. We listened and heard heavy breathing, we looked through the slot at the bottom of the door and saw golden wolf-like eyes starring back. Ka'gron put a ration under the door and something took it and we heard loud gobbling sounds. Afterwards the eyes staring back at us were gone. Someone tried to kick in the door, but it appeared to be barred from the other side. We decided to leave the weird wolf thing behind and continue on, the next hallway at the turning point was full of sand, upon testing the sand with the ten foot pool, it sunk down six feet before hitting something solid. As we bickered over how to proceed and test if the sand was quicksand, we were attacked from behind by two ghoulish creatures coming out of the previously barred room behind us. The casters quickly delt lethal damage to one Ghoul, and the rest of the party murdered the other. We went back to the sand and after more bickering, Curtis just stepped out onto the sand and seemed to be fine. Ka'gron next stepped out onto it, and we deemed the sand safe and continued on. Lilium still cast levitate to avoid stepping on the sand and got pulled along on a rope like a mage-balloon. We came to a door across the sand hallway and opened it, it had a large tree reaching all the way to the forty-five foot vaulted ceiling, it had many small blue glowing cherry-like fruits on it. Some members of the party felt that something was reading their minds and alerted the rest of the party. Curtis wanted to burn the strange and vile tree to the ground, but Lilium ignored him and levitated up the tree to pick some glowing blue berries. He picked all the berries he could and tossed a few to Ka'gron who asked him to, Ka'gron ate one and instantly could hear the thoughts of the entire party. We called them ESP Berries and got... quite a few. The party left the room and before continuing down the sandy hallway, Ka'gron poked the sand with his ten foot pole and found that the sand began to give way below him eminating from where his pole poked through the surface. He stepped back and waited for the sand to stabilize before continueing on without poking the sand again. The party next came to a strange metal door that Ka'gron could tell from the stonework around it that it was meant to slide open. He put his hand to it and pushed trying to open it, but it did not budge. Emery attempted to lodge a crowbar in the left side and force it open without touching it, but had no luck. Curtis got fed up and just put a hand to the door evidently knowing them from his previos adventures, and the door opened. It evidently responded to human touch. We proceeded down this new hallway to another door similiar to the previous one, and Ka'gron insisted an elf try it. Lilium touched it, but it did not move. Gorg touched it and it instantly opened. Inside this room it was cold and there was many small metal doors resembling storage cabinets. Upon sliding one open, Ka'gron found a corpse inside, he pushed it off on the ground to see if something was under it, but nothing was and it was naked. All the other cabinets had many more dead bodies preserved in this cooled room, the group concluded this must be food storage for the vampires. Ka'gron feared these bodies could be reanimated by a necromancer or else just help to keep the vampires strong, so to deny either of these the bodies were doused in oil and lit aflame. The group had to quickly flee the cold room as it was quickly filling with smoke. Further down the hallway the group came upon another room with a large raised dais at the back of the room, and at the center of the dais was a humanoid shaped indention with many small holes all throughout the body area. By the Dais was a switch, but no one wanted to test anything, as it was suspected this room was used to kill and drain the blood of humanoids into the holes in the alter when the switch was pulled. There was nothing else of interest in this room, so the group left. Much further down the hallway in this strange futuristic wing of the third floor the group came upon another sliding door. Upon opening it they saw inside a silver chest with suns and moons and stars on it in the center of a magic circle etched into the floor. After much debate about how to handle it, Ka'gron bravely stepped foreward into the circle and faced no reprecussions. Fearing it would hold him in, he stepped out and had no trouble. Feeling more confident he approached the chest, and thinking he could avoid any magical mishaps if he tied a rope around the box and pulled the chest out from outside the room he found himself quite mistaken as upon attempting this the magic circle lit up and shot lightning at him. The chest was not budged one inch, it was deemed immovable. So next he thought he'd try opening the chest and taking it's contents out instead. He opened the chest and instantly regretted it as inside was a swirling black abyss pulling anything inside the circle into it's infinite darkness and into the unknown. Ka'gron narrily escaped the pull before the lid shut itself a moment later. Thinking this maybe some kind of random freak event, he tried the chest again, but the same black hole was all that greeted him again. He managed to escape once again, and the group deemed this chest nothing but a trap and moved on. Returning to the original sandy passage, the group ventured further toward another corridor and in the first room of this hall we encountered a children's room with toys strewn about, 3 bunkbeds and 5 kids sleeping in bed. Curtis approached the oldest looking child, a girl and quietly awakened her. She seemed alarmed at first, but he showed his hands empty and made motions to calm her down, informing her we were here to save them. As Curtis talked with the girl, Ka'gron ate one of the blue ESP Berries from earlier to read the child's thoughts to ensure she wasn't a vampire or some kind of horrible thing. He found to his surprise she, nor any of the other children had any thoughts! Fearing the worst, he removed a gauntlet and approached the girl, taking her by the wrist to check her pulse, but before he could get a reading she and the other children attacked! The children were ghouls and quickly bit and paralyzed Ka'gron and Mirdelous. As the party readied to counterattack, five more ghouls burst into the room, but were webbed instantly by Lucian. As the party fought the five ghoul children, and five webbed adults, Zio and Lilium were also paralyzed. After the fight was over the paralyzed were healed and the next room was investigated, there was a table with a dead, carved up dwarf on the table, it appeared they had served him up and were having a feast of him, horrid. The next room in this series of rooms had a single chest in the corner, the party apprehensively poked at it with a ten foot pole and found nothing amiss, then Ka'gron opened it. Inside the chest was a sack, inside the sack was a box, inside the box was a small felt bag, inside the bag was a balled up piece of black velvet. Upon unballing it, the party found a six foot diamater black circle of velvet. Someone stuck his hand inside and it did not appear on the other side. Ka'gron stuck his head in and found there was no air inside, and it was discovered it was a portable hole. The party rested in the room with the children's bunkbeds, we heard some scuttling in the night, but the rest was uninteruptted. The party decided to call it a day and on the way out back into the sand hallway they encountered eight trolls. Ka'gron quickly stabbed the sand at the feet of the trolls causing them to sink six feet and be trapped. Curtis cast a phantasmal force to make it appeared a large Fire Elemental appeared and menaced the trolls, causing them to quickly dig themselves out of the sand and beat a hasty retreat. He kept the elemental chasing them as far as he could before the group lost sight of them, at which point we continued our escape from the dungeon and back through the wilderness of Baalor and back to Stilt Town.
