We are full, thank you very much for your interest everyone! Good to see you :) For the quick ones: Time: Monday as well as Friday evenings around 7pm CET, playing for around 5 hours. Players: 1 more - 4 players is my limit so everyone can have their time to shine. Newcomers are welcome as long as they take the group, me as the GM & roleplaying seriously. Technical Stuff: A working microphone with acceptable quality and Teamspeak (its free and better quality than Skype). This is not a textgame, sorry. Rulebooks will be provided, of course. . Campaign status: We are doing a fresh start with this, heading off into the unknown. Get in now, limited time offer! ;) What we are looking for: An active, reliable adult player who enjoys character interaction (discussions, small talk etc.) between PCs as well as NPCs, immersing themselves in a different universe and finding their own adventures as well as pursuing their own goals. They should have an opinion on things, they should be vocal about it and they should 'do stuff' on their own sometimes instead of waiting for the GM to mention just that special thing that interests them off-hand. There will be no questmarkers. Characters that kill PCs or NPCs or simply brainwash someone out in the open for anyone to see won't survive very long with me unless they are smart about it regarding the authorities and the rest of the group. By the way, depending on the groups' actions this is a very low combat campaign - although what direction a campaign takes is always up to the players to a certain extend, in past campaigns we went whole sessions without any 'action' of that kind. Just keep that in mind. Please be prepared to be at least somewhat involved in the ongoing process and very much voice your opinion, please. Good communication is key. You need to be reachable in some way, not 24/7 or anything but at least once every 2 days. Because of the setting, we allow/use the following classes: Angel, Battlebabe, Brainer, Driver, Gunlugger, Hardholder, Savvyhead and Skinner. Also, we use some custom ones - don't worry, I will send you the playbooks as needed - which are: Beast Master, Dog, Solace, Conduit, Faceless, Hoarder, Orphan and the Swashbuckler. Taken class at the moment is the Gunlugger as one of my core group of players has sort of 'reserved' that for himself already. The rest is open for discussion and grabs during session zero. We play Monday and Friday evenings for about 5 hours each session with some chatting at the end (end of session move, what we liked, what we didn't, does the tone work for everyone, what could be changed, how to make it better etc.). Send in applications via pm with a rough character concept (outlook, drive/motivation etc., nothing too specific necessary really) and ideally some basic info about yourself. One sentence requests to f.e. 'inv me' will be denied. Current agerange in the group is roughly between 25 and 35 (no one under 18, please) but what is most important to me is that you are reliable and into creating an interesting story together with the rest of us. Depending on the application I won't schedule interviews with everyone but I will respond to every pm I receive, more care given to those that seem genuinely interested or even ask sensible questions (*gasp* ;) ). This is not a first come first serve, but if things go -really- well we might actually already play this Monday so it would be great if you would be available for that. ------ A bit more information about the campaign. We are using the Apocalypse World system with the maelstrom and everything but putting it into a scifi Universe. Basically, take the crew from Firefly, put them in the living ship from Farscape, send them an unimaginable distance away from home like in Voyager and have them investigating new planets, species and technology like a Stargate team... thats kind of how we are playing. The technology level that the PCs have is more like Star Wars without the Force, so no replicators, transporter beams and whatnot but yes to Droids, some alien races etc. in the known universe... Which of course says nothing about the part of the Universe the PCs have now been thrown into :) So yeah, basic theme is a small group of people on their own (weird) ship trying to survive - and what they make of it. I myself have been a GM for about a decade (a player for more than that) with various systems like Star Wars, D&D 3.5, White Wolf stuff, Pathfinder, DSA (The Black Eye) and just freeform fun. The other players around me are 2 people I have played/worked with before and one 'new guy' so everything falling apart is hopefully unlikely in case you are worried about that. As per the AW rules, we (and that includes me as the GM) play to find out what happens, very much seat of your pants open world style where you decide where you want to go and what to do, though of course each session and interaction (as well as character backgrounds & bonds) gives me as the GM stuff to build on. The campaign has - like any other - some humor in it but I ask my players to try and take situations and other characters (be they PC or NPC) seriously, meaning that insulting someone higher up will have consequences. Being outraged about a planet where slavery is common is all well and good, the question is how would you even begin to start and try changing a whole society? Is it even slavery or is it biological dependence or something else that just appears to be slavery because of the PCs perspective? A good rule to remember in general: Actions will have consequences, as will inaction , of course... And no, I am not above killing or jailing player characters if the fiction demands it. It has happened. For rules regarding netiquette (yes, they have unfortunately proven to be necessary) please refer to the campaign listing here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/17460/apocalypse-world-theia You can also find the date & time for our next session there (it shows the time in your timezone) at which point we would also decide on a starting scenario as well as build all the characters together and players will have a chance to veto aspects if they feel it will be impossible to play with them for one reason or another. Ideally we want agroup that can work together but still has some rough edges and potential for (solvable) conflict. I explicitly allow PVP in-character, the characters don't have to like each other or favor the same approach or even have the same goals entirely. Out of character everything should stay respectful which is one of the reasons why I feel it is important to chat a bit after each session to make sure everyone is still okay with everyone. Any questions, just ask here or via pm and I will respond asap.
