OK so for the longest time I've been wanting to play a long-form campaign of call of cthulhu. The group i currently play with is fantastic, but tend to be more angled to one shots of different games and sometimes can have spotty attendance. What i am looking for is 3-4 players who are interested in vivid story-driven and highly narrative game play more so than playing-the-numbers or goofing-off-before-getting-bored-and-going-full-murder-hobo. I'm looking for players that care about story and character development and will play the game with the mindset that they are taking on a role. laughing and joking is ok so long as the native climate of the story remains "survival horror". To add to the fear of death for this game i am thinking of implementing a sort of "perma-death" into the campaign. Death comes easy in call of cthulhu, so players will only be allowed their primary characters, and a SINGLE successor should their character die or vanish. This will hopefully at to the suspense of the story. i would like to know what perspective players think about that. The campaign will be masks of nyarlathotep. (So permadeath may be a bit optimistic) for those of you unfamiliar, MoN is an award winning supplement for the call of cthulhu rpg in which the players discover the body of a dear friend. During their investigation, discover secrets so vast and terrible it can only mean the certain doom of earth and all her inhabitants. It is up to the players to learn and implement the only way to stop the destruction of earth, while dodging horrific monsters, mad cultists, and the authorities, in a globe trotting adventure that spans 5 counties all over the world. The kicker is, there is only one year to accomplish this goal. Feel free to post here or send a private message of you would like to know more.
