[interest check] long call of cthulhu campaign for serious role players

OK so for the longest time I've been wanting to play a long-form campaign of call of cthulhu. The group i currently play with is fantastic, but tend to be more angled to one shots of different games and sometimes can have spotty attendance. What i am looking for is 3-4 players who are interested in vivid story-driven and highly narrative game play more so than playing-the-numbers or goofing-off-before-getting-bored-and-going-full-murder-hobo. I'm looking for players that care about story and character development and will play the game with the mindset that they are taking on a role. laughing and joking is ok so long as the native climate of the story remains "survival horror". To add to the fear of death for this game i am thinking of implementing a sort of "perma-death" into the campaign. Death comes easy in call of cthulhu, so players will only be allowed their primary characters, and a SINGLE successor should their character die or vanish. This will hopefully at to the suspense of the story. i would like to know what perspective players think about that. The campaign will be masks of nyarlathotep. (So permadeath may be a bit optimistic) for those of you unfamiliar, MoN is an award winning supplement for the call of cthulhu rpg in which the players discover the body of a dear friend. During their investigation, discover secrets so vast and terrible it can only mean the certain doom of earth and all her inhabitants. It is up to the players to learn and implement the only way to stop the destruction of earth, while dodging horrific monsters, mad cultists, and the authorities, in a globe trotting adventure that spans 5 counties all over the world. The kicker is, there is only one year to accomplish this goal. Feel free to post here or send a private message of you would like to know more.
Depending on the time and day I would all over this like white on rice.
WOW!!!!!! Sounds perfect to me! I have 6e and 7e rules and would enjoy such a campaign as your's. I ran many CoC games and also played in numerous ones. So, I know what your talking about when it comes to lack of depth and comment for many players. I am in...
Wow fantastic! I'm glad to have so many people interested. This and the private messages ive received are actually enough to get it off the ground. This would probably either take place on a Thursday, Friday, or Sunday, at a frequency of about once a month. I know it seems far-between. But unfortunately my schedule right now is spotty. If everyone's really really jonesing, im willing to do a few late-night games. Which brings me to my next topic. The game itself is usually pretty late at night (We start at 9 or 10pm EST and go until completed (usually about 2 or 3am)) So, we would need players that would be able to swing that once a month. I'm currently running it on 6E but I would love to integrate certain things from 7E, like the whole "pushing" failed rolls thing. If you guys are still interested, send me a private message and we can get a campaign room thrown together and organize a time and do character introductions etc. (Since you all start the game as friends or colleagues.)
This sounds quite perfect for me, apart from the time unfortunately. If you ever were to concider playing earlier at day I would be so on this.
Damn, well thats no problem. Its a shame though. I'm actually getting ready to start assembling the group. Unfortunately it cant be pushed any earlier due to my own hectic schedule, but if things change I will for sure let you know?
Is it too late for me to join this? My other campaign fell through.
We got room for one more! I'll send you invite as soon as i can (on cell now doesn't work so well)
I take it the offer is no longer on the table, correct?
Sorry all full
Darn. Well, good luck with the campaign, and feel free to message me if you ever get an opening.
I will indeed sir
I'm new to Call of Cthulhu, but I would love to be considered as an alternate if you have a space open up.
We have an opening! If interested message me on skype at ferninjitsu for a few questions before acceptanc .

I'm also very interested in this. I'm on the west coast so the times you mentioned are pretty good for me. I recently got my copy of horror on the orient express (it's only taken me 15 years or so) and it's really rekindled my love for all things CoC. Do you want me to skype you?
