Updates, or Lack Thereof

First of all, I love roll20. I've used Fantasy Grounds II, d20pro, and maptools, and this is my favorite of the bunch due to its ease of use, jukebox, video chat, and so on. However, it is still relatively new and has bugs, features that the players are clamoring for both small and large, etc. Up until recently it seemed as though updates were coming out almost once a week. The last update that I can see was on 7/2, almost a month ago. Have the developers hit some sort of roadblock? Or maybe they feel that it is good enough to take a step back for now? Or has the focus just shifted to the marketplace element or other big projects and actual gameplay and UI elements are put on the back burner? Any updates would be welcome. In fact, having a place to see release notes, what's being worked on, etc in a place other than on an easily lost thread in the forums would be great. Maybe in the help section? I apologize if this post sounds critical or unappreciative of what it takes to develop and maintain something like roll20. That is not my intention at all. I'm just afraid that support for it might be waning when I would hope that it would pick up. Keep up the great work, please!

Going off a reply on July 19 by Riley, it sounds like there's going to be another update right around the corner. Presently Riley makes a new thread for every major update, so the team can get feedback regarding that particular update. I suspect that sort of focused dialog is still needed, but maybe what also might be good is a closed list of update announcements that's kept at the top of a forum (similar to the Official Roadmap thread).
That sounds good. I wasn't aware that a new thread was getting created for each new major update. I was just looking HERE and saw that it was closed with the most recent update on 7/2. But having a centralized location for updates would be nice since navigating the forums for specific information can be a little daunting.
Sorry about the lack of updates recently. I can assure you that we have still been working just as hard, but we've taken a step back to really overhaul the fundamentals of the software (the "behind the scenes" stuff) to set us up for the next few months of awesome new features. We'll be posting more details early next week, then we should be back to a more regular "incremental" update schedule.
Get to a point where you realized what you had already built couldn't handle the load you were about to give it?
Could be. I suspect feedback pointed out some emergent desires among the user base they hadn't anticipated or designed for (which is not a criticism, of course, just something that happens), so they decided to take some of the internals in a new direction that allowed for more flexibility to accommodate.
Updates! <a href="http://community.roll20.net/discussion/1832/new-update-730#Item_2" rel="nofollow">http://community.roll20.net/discussion/1832/new-update-730#Item_2</a>
Of course I choose to make a post about a lack of updates the day before a major update! ;)
