Next session's Checklist

Oh boy, choices choices! Hmmm, debating between level 4 Bard or adding a level of Barbarin....
Thanks everyone for showing up today. Very interesting sequence of events. I'll tell ya, everyone's actions are becoming more and more unpredictable. You guys are really keeping this DM on his toes! Hope I'm keeping it interesting and fun despite the dragon threat, and the madness, which certainly put you all in a really tough position. Hey, you're all still alive at least. This is becoming a very complex problem solving teamwork campaign and that's great, thanks again!

XP check? Also, this session was TENSE, I'm surprised none of us got eaten.
I wish I could have participated as much in this session as everyone else, but it's all my fault. I was trying to plan out my character path vis a vis leveling and spells, and afterwards I was trying to figure out macros so I was on the back burner for most of it. It was a pretty stupid decision on my part.

Ah, very important part. +1080 each for avoiding certain death from the dragon +335 for avoiding a battle with the yuan-ti malison and 6 drow for your highest total yet +1415 XP from the session Bringing you to 4115 Total XP each Leaving 2385 XP to gain to level up to 5

Hey Rob I was wondering if you could enable API scripts for the campaign. You should be able to now that you're a mentor.
Sure, I'll try to figure it out. But what does that mean, Marco?
I think marco is looking for you to install <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1054686/script-power-cards#post-1054686" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1054686/script-power-cards#post-1054686</a>
Yes Rob is correct. Although I was under the impression I plug in the script myself. I thought all you had to side was select some option in the settings tab that enabled API scripts.
Only the DM can install API scripts Marco. I have not used the power cards, but typically, only the DM can use the things produced by API scripts as well.
Well I made a post in the API forum and they told me that if I want to use the power cards, then my DM needed to allow API scripts, then I could just follow the directions in a link they sent to another post. I'll research it a bit more.
The API is still very much in development. At this point we only recommend running API scripts on COPIES of your campaign to avoid any permanent damage. That's the message I get when I click on APIs so I'm going to avoid it for now. I like to keep things generally simplistic and as close to tabletop, pen and paper, as possible. Besides dynamic lighting, which is just awesome.
Ok that's fair. I liked the look of the power cards and I figured it would look more clean to implement them into the campaign but it's your choice.

For next session, I would definitely be a fan of not bringing the extra NPCs around but, rather, let them stay doing things separate from our group. (Searching in town, otherwise gathering info, etc.) It feels like the extra 2 people slows down combat too much and the PC controlling them has to divide attention, and the NPC personality changes depending on who is controlling them.
I am guessing that once we find these rebels, they'll stay with them as that will become our sort of base of operations.

That is entirely fine with me Darvin, but you (and your party members) will have to think of a good way to convince them that their time is better spent elsewhere. But you could certainly put them to other tasks. What tasks should the NPCs do during the 3 remaining days in Witchcrag?
Hey Rob, I have an idea I wanted to throw at you regarding a special ammo type, and see if you would allow it. It's special ammo for the sling, which I have proficiency with. It would basically be a sling bullet with pepper, chili powder, and crushed glass in it. Or some relevant equivalent to the materials. I'd obviously be aiming specifically for the eyes, so there would be a hit penalty, but I'm not sure. The effects would be the normal damage since I'm still attacking, and they would cause blindness unless the creature takes an action to rub their eyes clean using their canteen or something like that. Do you think this would be possible? Also I was wondering if we might be able to spend a few minutes at the start of the next session role playing a celestial encounter while I was summoning, Einur's spirit, like we talked about before? To refresh your memory, I was sneaking away for an hour at night so I could pray/try and bring back Einur by myself, and we said his spirit would be brought back out of Hermod's sympathy. I figured we could handle it though a deva or something like you did with Ysbern. That would be the celestial nature of Einur's spirit, as opposed to fey or fiend which are the other two options. I don't want to take too long, I just wondered if we could do something quick.
Answer to part 1- Yes. Cost of creation is equivalent to 2x a regular sling bullet To hit is -5. Causes blindness until creature uses action to rub their eyes like you said. Answer to part 2 - Yes -- but you'll have to use your inspiration to have Einur's spirit be restored out of Hermod's good graces (a plot point). Thanks for continuing to think outside the box I love the initiative and creativity!
Alright, both of them seem agreeable. For those sling bullets though, would I have to input a custom - 5 penalty in roll20 on the weapons tab? And just to clarify, I'll still be aiming for their AC right? Or should it be a static hit since nobody can really train their eyes to defend. Also, should I expect this to do +10 to beholders? Lol.
Marco, to make the attack and damage work properly, you can add a new item to your weapons tab, give it a -5 magic bonus and then in the damage column, add +5 to the base damage.
Or you or Rob can always remember that targets always have 3/4 cover against attacks form it.
Why would I add +5 base damage?
Marco G. said: Why would I add +5 base damage? Yeah, why would he add +5 base damage?
adding -5 under the magic modifier also subtracts 5 from the damage, so you have to add it back in and the only place is in the base damage field.
Ahh. Damn Rob, why are you so good with all this stuff lol.
I do it for you Marco
Nah lol. I got it down. I just hadn't considered the - 5 damage from the magic effect. Of course, I'll have to do this myself cause I'm going to key the macro in myself, using all the custom macros I've made. I prefer having my own flavor text as opposed to the character sheet one.
Hey guys, there was a major update to roll20 today and our character sheets changed a little bit. You should all check to make sure everything works as intended still. <a href="http://blog.roll20.net/post/113260571295/update-of" rel="nofollow">http://blog.roll20.net/post/113260571295/update-of</a>... I am trying to get these working too: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Roll_Templates" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Roll_Templates</a> I know its similar to something Marco was super excited about.
Yeah that's what I was looking for. The other ones were prettier, but more than anything it gives everyone a chance to get some better customization for their powers, if you're into that.
We just gotta wait for the 5e character sheets to implement them, I think. I am still trying to get them to work.
2 things. A) did i dish out XP last time? B) Who deserves inspiration from last session?
A) We are up to 6000, I think you awarded us 500.

Yes you awarded like 500 or so. And honestly, for role playing inspiration I gotta give it up to Vetari for the cake and spell work. Lots of great interactions with the NPCs as well. Loved it. Combat wise, I would say either Darvin because he was kiting 2 skeleton minotaurs, or for Marit because he accidentally took out those minotaurs, as well as the evil skull. Just two cents.
Considering last session was more of an puzzle/exploration challenge rather than a combat challenge, I nominate Marrit (it was Marrit right?) for destroying the item that was controlling Minotaurs/skull. Vetari gets roleplay inspiration, no brainer.
Hey guys, a reminder that character sheets saw a sizable upgrade recently, the weapons section especially needs to be updated by everyone and it would be kind to everyone to have that done before tomorrow night!

I second this. Thank you Rob! Rob, I could also give editing permissions of the sheets to you (since you're the Roll20 wiz-kid) and you could go in and update them and double-check them for accuracy. Only if you have the time. I'll give you permissions anyway and it'll be up to you.

You rock man!
Yeah I appreciate it greatly. I've been so busy lately with work and trying to start up my campaign that I forgot to check everything.
I'll go through mine today too. Did we hit level 5?
We have the xp, but we'll have to wait till after battle to reach 5.
You should have all of your choices ready for level 5 prior to next session, and then whoever survives the battle will instantly level up.
Did we ever discuss whether we'd be playing tomorrow?
Marco G. said: Did we ever discuss whether we'd be playing tomorrow? I was led to believe that there is a session tomorrow since all our Easter plans ends before our session begins. Has there been any last minute changes to this?
I was also under the impression we are playing today.
I'm at a con today that ends at 6 (when we start our game) so I'll be a little bit late as we take everything down. Thankfully the con is in Austin so I shouldn't be later than an hour max!
The voice of the DM booms from the sky... TODAY, WE SHALL PLAY SOME MAY DIE THE ONES WHO RISE WILL BE CHAMPIONS
Ok cool. Good to know I was right. I thought we might but I couldn't remember.
