Veteran Player looking for DnD 3.5 that does not practice prejudices against developmental disabilities, last chance for good gaming experience

Im a high functioning autistic that for the most part doesnt show except in situations of extreme stress or triggers of past abusive situations. Have had some bad experiences of late with gms' and players that refuse to be patient and understanding of my very few limitations because of my disability. (no rape, domestic violence and torture scenarios, incarceration acceptable only if i have sworn oaths of imprisionment doesn't mean game over for my character in advance.) Am a veteran player of 30+ years, live in mountain time zone, a nite owl so afternoons, evenings and late nites work best for me, (not a morning person lol).  My favored class that i play best as is Rogue, usually with emphasis on second story man, or uncanny trickster or if doing long term campaigns that get into epic and titan lvls have some particular favorites in prestige classes. Can do other classes but not as good at them and refuse to be clerics since i suck at that really bad lol. I prefer to be one of the team and not the leader, stay to the middle of the pack, only taking point when my class abilities are needed, and prefer to be a ranged fighter in combat making pincushions outta enemies with ranged weapons. If up close and personal, preferred weapon of choice is whip dagger from Sword and Fist books. Since am a female, always play tough broad females.  I do not like leadership roles since the pressure of deciding for others doesnt allow me the relaxation needed to think properly, which usually ends up in rushed bad choices when made to be the leader. But have excellent advice from loads of experience for the party leader if they are open to suggestions icly/oocly. This is my last shot at having a positive enjoyable table top experience before giving up playing pen & paper games altogether and sell my large collection of books. Really tired of people misunderstanding me, misjudging me, jumping to conclusions and assumptions that aren't true instead of just asking me point blank and directly about how my character would react to a particular situation. Am the poster child of scrupulous seperation of icly knowledge and oocly knowledge, i dont metagame.
I honestly hope you find your group.  I would invite you to mine but its a tad crowded at the moment.  It realy is all about finding the right people.
Don't lose hope, I am sure you can find a game here that will be a nice fit. While I am currently not running any 3.5 I will definitely keep you in mind if I or my friends put something together.
I would play with you, but I don't think I could GM. I'm a newbie player and would really like to play a 3.5e+ campaign.
I'm sigma34561 on skype, or PM me. My group is starting a pathfinder ebberon game on monday mornings. We alternate pathfinder and 3.5 adventures with me running the pathfinder part and another DM running the 3.5. It's 10:00 eastern on monday morning and we play for 4-5 hours with a break at 12:00. Let me know if you are interested.
The support posted here and over flowing my message box is heart warming and hope restoring. Thank you to all that offered support as players, and to the DM's/GM's that extended offers for me to join their campaigns. I got misty eyed to see how many reached out to me when the best I hoped for was none to trolls telling me to go away in a variety of ways. (which thankfully did not happen...whew)  Two offers are good fits for days and times, and a third is a good day fit but not a good time fit since thats usually when i sleep but might just have to set an alarm and make rocket fuel coffee to stay awake so can play that one too. lol Again, thank you one and all for making me feel welcome, wanted, needed, and appreciated as person and experienced player.
Wow, your message touched my heart. Firstly, let me say that this group of players are on the fringe of regular society anyway. A lot of people look at us as nerdy or as being in  the "geek culture". Heck, I will be the first to say I am a geek. I have clinically diagnosed depression, so I am not perfect either. I like to think most of the players that I have met in real life to play tabletop aren't perfect either and might have some kind of problems too. I can only speak for myself in saying that I don't judge others and a lot of the people seem to be pretty nice. So please don't lose hope and sell your books. I know that there is a niche for you here. Heck, I always find it nice to have a female playing in the game. It softens up the testosterone fest that it can sometimes  turn into. So in short, don't lose hope. I admire you for your inner strength and honesty. /hugs Reid
You're not alone, and your moral support isn't just limited to PTSD-filled minds like mine. If a GM doesn't immediately cooperate with a request of "no rape or torture scenes", they're not likely certain what fun or happiness is, or how to organize it for a group of 3-8 people. I think that's nearly the easiest thing one could say about ethical GMing.

I think that's nearly the easiest thing one could say about ethical GMing. While i make my best wishes to both you and the OP, ithink that statement is utterly wrong. Sometimes a GM wants to tell a story where horror, violence and torture (physical or psichological) are key elements. Some gaming systems rely heavily on filling the players with a sense of horror, uneasiness or shock (Some OWoD games, Cthulhu, etc..). When running a game with those elements a GM should always warn the players before, and only select players who are confortable when those elements are employed. One of the best RP game i ever played in my life was a Wraith: the Oblivion game set during WW2, and centered around a concentration camp. It was harsh, horrible and taxing (for the players and the storyteller), but yet it was the most intense RP experience i ever had.  Very few Storytellers can successfuly handle a game like that, and not many players can enjoy it, but for those who do it might be something to remember. That said, i'm sorry for the digression, and i renew my best wishes to the OP. Not every game revolves around those themes (very few actually do) and i'm sure he will be able to find games where his disability would not be stressed.
I'm not going to tell other people what they can and can't enjoy, but I personally think "rape and torture scenes" are despicable as entertainment in any medium.  Luckily I've never ran into a GM that enjoys roleplaying rape and torture scenes (I imagine it's pretty rare to begin with), but if I did request that the GM doesn't include them and they still refused, then obviously the GM doesn't have enough respect for me to warrant gaming with.  Those elements can be alluded to without roleplaying them out, and there are a bazillion interesting stories that don't require active rape and torture to be effective.  At the very least a good GM would let players know ahead of time so that players could decide up front if it's a good fit. OP - I don't play 3.5, but it's not just you -  it can sometimes be a struggle to find compatible groups of players when we aren't playing with folks we know.  Keep at it and good luck!
I'm with Mattia - to tell a story properly, sometimes you need to talk about "bad things" It doesn't mean everyone has to like it, or participate - but there are plenty of highly regarded literary works that describe horrible violence. It shouldn't be a requirement, certainly, but it shouldn't be excluded from all fiction/entertainment either. Books, Movies, Comics, Art, have all depicted something awful at some point. They aren't necessarily advocating it, but they are using it to send a message that otherwise couldn't be sent or have the same impact. Back on topic, in the Roll20 community, I've encountered a diverse group of players. So this is a better place than many for finding what you want. In my experience, it isn't content/theme that limits your playing pool but rather schedules and timing. Good to see my experience is shared by others :)
One of my best friends is a high functioning autistic, but we always let him play in our games. I would defiantly play with you man!
