Keyboard shortcuts for macro bar

I would love to be able to call macros with a keyboard shortcut. Possibly a set of keyboard shortcuts which are linked to the n'th item in the macro bar. (For instance, C-S-1 would call the first macro in my macro bar, C-S-2 would call the second macro, etc.) With Mentor level and API scripting, I can then attach API commands to macros to keyboard shortcuts for maximal joy. Because if I can't do something with a keyboard shortcut, than it must not be worth doing, right?
