Sink in the Campaign Forum doesn't seem to be functioning.

My understanding is that the Sink button is supposed to prevent a forum thread from showing in the Recent Campaign Discussion section of the campaign Details page. It's not working and doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. It would be really nice if Sink worked, and it would be even nicer if it also moved the thread to the bottom of the list of threads on the main Discussion Forum page. Thanks!

Lex, the Sink functionality isn't useful for campaign discussions due to how it was originally created to be used. I'll take a look at tweaking it for campaign discussions to be useful and work intuitively.

I would like this too, and wondered about this. Following this thread / watching for what happens with this. I feel like maybe the desired-functionality would be "Archive", the way Archive is used on Private Messages... if there is some way to dig it out later, if you later want to access it again. I think that "Sink" would be workable if the Campaign Forum would paginate (so at least it could push the subject line to the last page of messages) but I believe the Campaign Forum is currently unpaginated (as is the LFG board for your LFG listings).
Thanks, Steve! I appreciate it.

Steve... I noticed Roll20 fixed the Sink issue on Campaign Forum (or at least I think it looks different, the View All Posts link is working at the bottom of my Campaign Details page). But I think there could be a new non-optimized setting. Take a look? Now it's ONLY showing my Sticky threads on the Campaign Details page, where I would expect to see the Sticky Threads and the Non-Sticky but Recent and non-Sink'd threads. In other words it's not showing the "regular" (Non-Sticky, Non-Sink, Non-new but fairly recent and current) posts on the main campaign page. It's moved them down with the Sink threads to only showing on Discussion page. It is showing all threads under View All Threads or Campaign Discussion, as expected. Just missing regular threads on Details mainpage. At least that's what appears to be happening in my campaign at the moment.

Planning to patiently wait a few days before bumping this... but, yeah. (oops I'm bumping it, but I don't mean it in a pushy way). It's like I need to Sticky a thread if I want it to stay appearing on Campaign Details. Non-sticky regular threads have sunk to the Discussion page only. My group does our "Scheduling & Availability" thread as a Regular non-sticky thread, which should be showing on the Campaign Details page. I feel like it's kind of buried now. Granted I can go and "Sticky" the thread and it will rise up to the page I want it to appear, but I don't think that is the intended behavior. This changed 2-5 days ago
I'm not having the problem Gold mentions at all, although Sink still doesn't seem to be functioning.

Ok then. I mis-identified the issue. New Inquiry... is there a new Maximum number of post titles to show on Campaign Details page? We've got around 10 Sticky posts on my campaign, and those are the only titles showing on the Details page. Could there be a max of 10 titles before you must click "View All Posts" to go past 10? Ok, I checked 3 other campaigns (looking at ones where I'm a Player, and ones where I'm the GM and campaign owner). There appears to be a max of 10 post titles showing on the Details page now. All my campaigns are capped at 10 threads on the main page, including Sticky. This is better than "unlimited" post titles showing on details page, but just 10 is a little tight for my campaign needs. We actually do a fair amount of game-related dialog using our forum, so for me 10 just feels a little restrictive while 20 would be ideal for me. If there could be a "Posts Per Page" setting. I'll just have to consolidate some of our threads & Unsticky some of them, for now, regretfully. Example, our front-page threads are things like: Intro to Character Creation Intro to species types Intro to Class types Intro to Kits available Everyone tell what your species is Everyone tell what your class is Everyone tell what your kit is Everyone tell what your backstory is Everyone post your character illustration Current status of the campaign updates Scheduling discussion for the next session to play so I've spilled beyond the 10 limit. The threads still exist, so no problem there, the threads are present on the Discussion page, which makes sense, they are Discussion afterall. They still send Notifications. They can still be Sticky. Only downside is I feel cut-off from bumping a Non-Sticky thread about scheduling onto the front page due to having 10 stickys already.

Threads 1 through 4 could be unstickied and linked to in a locked-stickied post 'Guides to Creation'; threads 5 through 9 sound like they could be one thread, "Post Your Character'. That would condense your list of 11 down to 4. Just a suggestion from the peanut gallery ^_^

Tested more today & found that: Even making 11 Sticky posts, you still only get 10 Sticky posts on the front page. 11th post is bumped to Discussion page, even if it's a Sticky. GenKitty, I understand and thank you for that response. It essentially comes down to me needing to consolidate (which makes long threads, in my case, but I take on-board your idea of making an Index thread that links to the various chapters). I get that. Still feeling like different games, different campaigns, some games are more heavily forum-using, and Roll20 generally provides maximum flexibility for options for the user. Again I don't want to sound like a major complaint because the Discussion Forum is still a valid page in the Campaign, we aren't precluded from posting the 11th thread, it's just more hidden as a clickable thread title from the main page that Players see frequently. I think everyone knows "most people look at the first page". The 11th post seems to be getting fewer views & less attention due to being somewhat buried on a different link *even if it's a Sticky*!. I think my questions at this time boils down to: (1) Didn't this change recently? I'm pretty sure it was different behavior (showing all my post titles) until about 5 days ago.* (2) Is this change resulting in the intended limitation? Or was there a recent change which could be re-evaluated and perhaps expanded to 15, 20 posts? (3) Or would it be best served by starting a "Posts Per Page Option" Suggestion? (4) Or a Suggestion for Sticky posts not to be subject to the 10-title limit? * I think Steve addressed the Sink-Not-Working that started this thread, and that's when this was changed, and he's probably made a really good improvement by doing this. But I'd just ask for it to be reconsidered as to whether it's supposed to be burying the 11th post even if it is a Sticky post, and whether the limit of 10 could be looked at maybe 15 or other amounts.
