Newbie wanting help starting up a Fallout PnP campaign! Can DM if needed

Hello there! Rhela here, and I'm a newb to the world of Pen and Paper! I've been doing a ton of research and experimentation with RPGs in general, Roll20, D&D 3.5 (helping a friend move his campaign from that here, going to join them for my first session), and the idea of DMing. During my research, I found a little thing that interested me a ton.. Fallout PnP. Now, being a huge fan of the sci-fi series, I was all for setting up a campaign for this! I actually have a test campaign map-in-progress focused on bringing the Wasteland to Roll20. However, since Roll20 does NOT have this title in its library, it's been a tad hard finding people to play/help with this.. so that's where you come in! Willing to take a journey with me in learning this RPG (or teaching me and DMing.. if you would like!) and having some fun? I've got a decently-flexible schedule, so we can agree on a date and time when set up. Playstyle-wise, I am thinking of going with a more story-focused campaign, and I have a few ideas if I DM.
Bump! I currently have 1 person who finds the idea interesting, so it'd be great to have some more people!
Willing to play saturday nights, and a fan of the series...hit me up with a pm, we can talk more?
Count me interested.
Same here, I run on GMT and can do weekdays and some weekends, PM me if I could play as well :P
Although I'm not sure about Fallout PnP, I'd be happy to run something like Gamma World, Mutant Future, or Other Dust. And IIRC, Gamma World is available to search on here. You can also search manually by looking at keywords/tags.
ugh saturdays are bad for me
im in for this, sounds like a good time. Most days are good for me, weekdats are prefered though

Glad some people are interested in the idea! If anyone else wants in, you have time! Currently making a few maps to pull out AND thinking of the setting! Also, quick poll. Which would make for a more interesting campaign? Core Region/New California-based (Fallout 1/2 setting), or Capital Wasteland-based (Fallout 3)? We can always branch out to different areas or campaigns, but from the start.. which area sounds fun?
To be honest I'm ok with any region course I'm playing an Alpha Super Mutant it might be harder to explain how he made it too far at level one on his own . But hey I can deal ^_^

I kinda thinkin the New-California setting would be pretty cool but i've spent a lot of time in the capital wasteland and love that setting too. I'm thinking about a Recon/Thief/sniper Ghoul. Humans tend to avoid him and he uses that to his advantage. He doesn't blame the humans for making him an outcast but at the same time doesn't feel bad about lightening their purses to help him survive in the wasteland.

I'm with him, my Alpha Super Mutant (by the way he left the Master's Army because he realized what he was doing is wrong) is the face...no really he prefers to use his words rather then his guns to solve his problems. yes most people spit on him but unless they threaten his life he will not attack...I think thats an interesting build, a Charasmatic Super Mutant LOL

Always makes for interesting encounters!
Any setting's cool by me! My character's an ex-raider/Mercenary who comes from poor beginnings, and after a dispute with his former colleagues, which ended with him dumping most of them in a shallow grave, he became a caravan guard, a way of life he actually enjoyed, but when he was fired from that because of his drinking problem he ended up wandering as a prospector, bitter and looking for his next drink. He's an up-close-and-dirty fighter, comfortable with small guns as well as melee/unarmed combat.

BTW, I also thought your character concept was pretty cool. You want grey characters in any good party.
So what type of schedule is everyone working with? I'm open to most days with the exception of Friday, and probably Saturday nights. Week day night are best for me, anytime around 11GMT (6pm ETZ). Sunday i pretty good too.

@scott: Clarify: You can or can't do saturday nights? I myself can do friday and saturday nights, but thats pretty much it. I'm on EST.
for me the only days I can't do is saturdays fridays and tuesdays
Saturdays aren't great but i can make it work. I don't know why i wrote ETZ up there, brain fart...i'm on EST too.
If there's still room, I would be totally interested in a Fallout campaign. I would have to see what day of the week it ends up falling on before I can commit, but would love to participate if possible. :)
Hi there, Rhela! Just wanted to say that I ran an open world fallout game here a few months back that was a big success, and would be happy to send you my big disorganized booklet of plot hooks and whatnot if you feel like you could use inspiration.
If you still have room for players I'd be interested! I love the Fallout series and it seems like a great world to RP in. My schedule is pretty open, but I can't do Saturdays and Wednesdays currently.
I'd love to join I'm available at almost any time
Maybe we should do Sundays, looking over this people seem consistant with sunday maybe 4-5 people in a group give a varried party we try to make a party of at least different races and styles. I'm playing a Super Mutant who talks things over, maybe someone else should be a face as well (because lets face how many people are gonna let him explain that he isn't going to rip their arms off and beat them to death with it)

I get that most people have trouble with saturdays. It isn't my intention to mess up the schedule. But I literally cannot do anything on sundays, or any weekday night except for Friday, because I'm in school. If it is absolutely, totally, utterly impossible for others to do either Fridays or Saturdays, then I will understand, leave and let you guys move on with that. But I love the idea f this game, and would ask you to really think about whether it's possible before making a decision.

But I would appreciate a mix of various factions. What we need is a former BoS paladin or scribe.

I suppose that makes sense....be a hell of team....why woudl we all work together only way I could reasonably see this is us being guards of some guy trying to make an outpost in some abanonded military base and he dies and we become the new leaders of a new base How about Mondays...anyone good for mondays? just thinking of ideas....
WELL IT seems that all of our characters are kind of outcasts from society, so we should be able to come up with some idea why we all got together. We could have all stumbled upon an abandoned vault at different times in the wasteland and through some luck, didn't kill each other while exploring/getting it back up and running. Sat isn't great but i would try to make it work. The only day that is a no for me is friday
Hey, guys, glad people are responding! I've been a tad swamped the past two or three days, so sorry if I haven't responded! Anyways.. I'm up for any day besides Tuesday or Wednesday! I'll allow you guys to figure that out among yourselves, as long as everyone is happy! Also, I know I've said to contact me on Skype.. please do, and say where you're from! I've had a few people doing that, but I haven't really responded due to the before-mentioned swampiness.. I'm trying to fix that! If anyone wants to come in as my secretary of sorts to handle the business-side of things, I'd reaaaaaally appreciate that! Other than that.. keep up the planning, I should get the character sheet soon! A really nice member of the community showed me what he had so far, and besides a few little bugs, it's ready for use! ^+^

I think some sort of dangerous situation that required collaboration is the best way to go.

I like that, maybe slavers, I mean a slave Super Mutant could be useful, like say labor...not realizing how smart he really is... I vote for that hook
Sounds good to me, our first task could be to figure out how to escape from the slavers? If that fits the GMs ideas that is!

Let's save the planning for the actual session (assuming we all get in, of course.) I really like the idea of the first scene being just our characters waking up in different cages, trying to figure out who we all are and whats going on, etc. :).
