Ondraedon Goes to Strongmoor

All... in my PM conversation with the DM, I will no longer have to appear before a council to be elected into an Archbishop position within the temple. But I still have to go and make sure I have approval from the temple to act in a position of religious leadership (on behalf of the temple) in Stilt Town. After John removed the curse from me, I would have recovered the first day. The second day I would have caught a merchant ship to Strongmoor. Since I am making this trip I will escort the children (I will tell them what James did for the Stygian slave) and I will take Highpriest Farnsworth with me as well, he is transported in manacles, a gag (including silence cast on him for as much of the trip as I can muster), and with a canvas bag on his head. I ask to meet with the captain of the ship to ask that I be allowed to place this man in a brig or some holding area and that it is to be guarded at all times and no one is to speak to him, touch him or even look into his eyes. Upon arrival at the temple Archbishop Ondraedon will request a presence with a ranking official to hand over the captured priest. I will tell the official about the cave on Baalor and that there is an altar to Eldrath there which I attempted to destroy but was unsuccessful at. I will also hand over the children, having been bathed and fed and generally cared for by the party, I will ask that the temple make every effort to return the children to their homes. I also ask that the temple send for authorities to come and take the priest into custody, I give them a brief description of the fight that took place, including the chimera and the fact that his royal guard abandoned him when we came for him. I will let them know he was captured by Violet using Chrysaor. I let them know other followers of Krotus that were with me (at least that I know are followers) were Ramkus the cleric and Gorg the fighting man. I will also pass on that the army we encountered this time was much larger than the previous. I will tell them that we plan to fortify this cave and take it as our own stronghold on the island of Baalor, and that I will continue trying to destroy the altar of Eldrath and would replace it with an altar of Krotus, perhaps allowing a lawful god a foothold on the island will help cancel some of the evil that now has a hold there. I describe the flag that was flying on the ships we took and ask if that flag has any meaning to anyone in the temple? I ask to meet with someone regarding my position in Strongmoor. I have asked the mayor and sheriff if they would allow me to operate within the city as a cleric. They have agreed and will even create a small office space for me to begin in. If this goes well I will invest and make a proper chapel/temple there. So my off time during the weeks I will be available to all residents of Strongmoor and any soul passing through that would like prayer, healing or to hear the word of Krotus. I will also take a moment to pick up some additional scrolls. I pay out 13142 for 4 cleric scrolls. And I give 6000gp as my tithe for my last 2 adventures. I would also like to stop in the market to see if I can find a flute or small horn... My next action is dependent on party needs; Ka'Gron - would you like me to drop off the item we discussed at the Wizard's Tower for analysis? Ramkus - Do I need to pick up any scrolls or books for you while I am at the temple, or perhaps you would like to travel with me to help with all the kids/party and see someone about what is happening to you? Should I drop off the unidentified wand at the Wizard's Tower for analysis? Otherwise, does anyone have any other business they want me to take care of while I am in Strongmoor. I can either spend an extra day tending to these matters, or I can return the following day and get to my arrow/bolt business chore.
We should probably have the wand analyzed. Is Ondraedon in good favor with the Wizard there?
Ramkus will tag along.
Not sure... I did drop off the statuette that had to be destroyed (and probably got the last familiar destroyed). But I would tell the familiar where we obtained the wand so the wizard wouldn't go in blindly. "The wand was found hidden in a statue on an altar for Eldrath in a pirate cave on an evil island. The wizard might want to wear protective gear when handling it!" Other than that, I am an Archbishop now and (until given a new title) a Bishop of the 9th social level of the Temple of Krotus. So unless the wizard is mad, we should do alright. So I will stay the extra day in Strongmoor to drop off the wand. I will stop in at the market to find an instrument (using detect magic because you never know!). I will spend the remainder of the second day meditating at the temple and try to talk to the senior members to see if I can gather any news or information on any available missionary quests.
Please do drop it off
So in addition to dropping off the wand at the Wizard's Tower, on the second day I drop off Ka'Gron's bag of holding to ask if the wizard can identify the runes. I let him know it was found in the palace amongst some ghouls.
What? Since when did Ka'Gron have a bag of holding? I thought just Curtis had one? Ka'Gron found a Portable Hole and wanted to put it into a backpack to kind of make a Bag of Holding, that was the last I heard of that?
It is not a a bag of holding. It is a bag of transmuting.
Wait... that bag we found a long time ago that turns gold into lead? I thought we were talking about the black cloth ring/hole he claimed recently... smh.
Okay, yeah, I knew he had a Portable Hole, and I was not aware he had the Bag of Transmuting, but it might be good to look into that one. Might be useful if uncursed, like it might actually turn lead into gold or something.
I am hoping to have it turn into a bag of holding, but you can let him look at the portable hole too.
Portable hole so much more awesome than bag of holding. Instant pit/snare, instant jaquizzi. All sorts of uses besides just carrying junk.

NOTE: You may be level 8, but you aren’t an Archbishop yet Freddy! Ondraedon, Ramkis, and Emery encounter nothing unusual as they cross the sea to Strongmoor. Ondraedon and Ramkis bring the children and the prisoner, High Priest Farnsworth, to the Greater Temple of Krotus. Emery heads off into the city to do thief stuff and join the Thieves guild (private message stuff). Upon Ondraedon’s request, Patriarch Kingslaw himself grants them audience. He is an grandfatherly man of fierce countenance, with great bushy white eyebrows and stern jaw. He asks that the children and prisoner be left with a priest at the door to his small office. Within you see that the office is threadbare, containing only objects and tools which are vital to the administration of the Temple. The Patriarch sits behind a creaky wooden desk with hands folded in his lap. Ondraedon tells the Patriarch of the cave on Baalor, and the altar to Eldrath which he desecrated; also mentioning he was unable to consecrate it to the service of Krotus. Ondraedon tells of the children and slave rescued from caves, mentioning that perhaps if the altar was converted to the worship of Krotus, its foothold might loosen the grip of evil that now holds sway across the island. Ondraedon then goes on to describe the flag flying on the ship, relating his tale of finding similar flags falling apart within the Palace of the Mountains; he also asks if it has a particular meaning. Ondraedon then turns to recent events in Stilt Town and the mayor’s agreement that a temple of Krotus would be welcome in the town. All this time the Patriarch sits in silence, listening sagely. When Ondraedon reaches the end, the Patriarch responds, “These children have been delivered from a grim fate. Yet again you and your friends prove to be of good character. We will try to return them home, and take them into the church should it not prove possible. I will let the King know of your deeds when I next meet with him.” Then the Patriarch says, “When you have secured the caves and provided sufficient defenses for the area, I will send a contingent of priests to properly consecrate the altar to the service of Krotus. Another will also need to be built in Stilt Town if a temple is to be established there. Given your rapport with the townsfolk and your proven dedication to the Temple and Krotus, I would like to offer you the position of Arch-Bishop of Stilt Town. You would need to oversee the construction of the Temple, set up administration activities, and then regularly administer Temple affairs at least one week of each month. There is no need to reply immediately, but the offer only stands for a week.” Thinking on the flag, the Patriarch says, “If it is as you described, it matches the description of the ships that have been raiding the coasts of the Lanthos. If there is more meaning to it than that, I am ignorant of it.” The items to be identified will need to be DMed during the game tonight.
