In the mood for Star Wars, preferably clone war era.

You know what I'm in the mood for... So I'm thinking something like.... all players are clone soldiers. Maybe fresh out of the clone tanks or just near their graduation. Various tests to find out what role they would be suited for, we may be foot soldiers for ground wars, or we may be assigned to the naval fleet either assisting in day to day operations of a cruiser or part of a flight squad. I've been binge watching clone wars, and the episodes with the clones as children and on planet kamino have always been more interesting. I'd prefer a GM who brings characters to life rather then default dialogue with the same voice for each character, and can balance story/roleplay with combat. Would be interesting if we eventually got assigned to a Jedi General's detail (the jedi being an NPC, I would like to keep force sensitive characters and player characters separate.) Also prefer an OC jedi, not some jedi we all know and like or hate. I enjoy Besalisk Jedi Pong Krell, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPvNkIPFdI8 He thinks lowly of clones and it is refreshing to see that not all clones are treated with respect. He is notorious for sending the clones in wave after wave to their deaths to achieve mission success. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays work best for me.

Interested in this as well. Get four and we have republic commandos.

Put in situations where we could get our general jedi or commander jedi (the padawan) killed rather than them being untouchable beacons for the might of the republic's army/navy/air force. Sent on missions to planets that have paid dearly for the crippling debt the republic has gotten into due to the creation of the clones. Where basic needs aren't met. No power, no access to fresh water and scarcely any food. Planets who resent the clones and the republic and could be easily swayed to join the separatists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-szII_ipwY
This is an amazing setting! I loved the clone wars show and if possible I would have a blast playing in this setting.
That sounds fun, I would enjoy a setting like this.
Indeed. If I wasnt already GMing, I would probably jump at this as the Republic Commandos and Karen Traviss books are my fav. If someone else starts this up on a good day; I might be able to get another player as well.
Depends....if we are playing Saga count me in...course I wouldn't mind playing a padawan if it means working with a team I can go Soldier ^_^ Dibs on being the hacker

Alas no player could play a force sensitive character. It should be based around the clones, each one of them being designated a number until they or their "brothers" come up with a name for one another like they did in the books and show. CT-5555 became known as Fives. The general jedi and the padawan would be an npc, and it would be up to the GM to flesh them out whether they care about the lives under their command, or only about those that prove themselves, or perhaps this jedi just cares about "the greater good" and has no problem sending tank born soldiers to their deaths. The general may encourage creative thinking which would make the clones under them feel like individuals rather than clones which depending on the situation could lead to some interesting encounters. I'm not to knowledgeable about the board game books I've only done one Star Wars game so far and that was almost a year ago. The start of the game would be a gamble because depending on the rolls of our characters during the tests (and rolls) could literally put the players as commandos, or naval forces among the fleet (them working in a general station area on the battle cruisers) or star fighter squadron. It would be a group evaluation.
Star Wars Saga would be a good book to play with as the Soldier Class basically have many trees that you can pick from, Including the Commando, It would help keep us varried in that regard
lookin in the first Saga book (the main one) they have stats on different characters including Average clone troopers. which are 12 STR 13 DEX 12 CON 10 INT 9 WIS and 8 CHA my suggestion is we play using these stats, but also add an 8 point buy to change the stats slightly to represent the varried nature of the clones, like some of us are better talkers some more intellegent or some have better dex. might be better then rolling because we are cloned not born
In one of books there is stats clone troopers. Not commandos or Arcs or special a troopers.

Like say 6 points to move around (max score 18) and then we can take away from other stats to move to others Like say I choose to make my clone wiser and smarter, make him a hacker or medic. While you guys make them faster and stronger for combat. We still have a varried team despite all being the same class (which in many RPG's is a problem if the entire team is the same guy...and literally we are the same guy) Just my option up to the GM what we do
I can plan a mission but I don't wish to be permanent Gm. How does Tuesday evening get sound, US eastern.
if we do it tuesday I can't do it
What days/nights can you?
The only days I can't do are Tuesday Friday and Saturday...though Saturday Evening I can do so long as its after 2 Pacfici (barring appointments)
Anyone else?
this gonna be a skype call type of thing?
Depends on what is working best for everyone, could be skype or just roll20
Teddy F. said: Depends on what is working best for everyone, could be skype or just roll20 I think both is better, chatting in the skype call for out of character stuff and some commentary while in Roll20 we keep our stuff in character....I mean lets face it unless we do a good Clone Trooper Impression I don't think we all want to try and sound like the same guy LOL
soooooooo when we gonna do this or at least do a meeting where we can discuss the game

Teddy F. said: It would be around 6pm pacific good news I can do that, so we gonna have a skype call for this or something ? I still don't know how you guys want me to make my sheet, do I make it in the form of a Clone Trooper stats, but add a few points to show how varried they are, or do I roll my own stats? I'd like to get int oa call with someone so I know what to do and perhaps meet my team ya know so we can plan on which guy does what, I for one don't mind being either the medic or the tech guy/pilot
Hey. I'm a friend of Bren and I would like to join if there's room.
